I have been at this for a while now! To think back to 2010 seems like forever ago. When I started I basically had the choice of P90X or Insanity. That was it for the extreme programs.

Well, the rest is history LOL I started working out cuz I needed it. I was tired of being overweight. Tired of feeling run down. Tired of just getting tired all the time! I made the decision to give it my all for 90 days and I haven’t stopped since. It has been a complete 180 in my life!

Most people starting out have the thought near the end of their first program of “what’s next?” I thought that too. And it was clear in my mind that I just couldn’t stop! I needed this and it would be too easy to fall back into old habits. So I took on some hybrids. Created crazy ones with any and everything Beachbody had to offer like my Perfect Storm hybrid and Constant Confusion hybrid.  Those kept me pumped up and getting great results. Over time, my bad habits were fully replaced and I have created a lasting passion for fitness!

But what’s Coach Wayne doing right now?

Over the past few months, my knees have been acting up a lot. Early on, I am sure this would have been a bigger issue mentally. Don’t get me wrong, it still isn’t making me happy. But I adapt! I do what I can and keep working and I stay on my nutrition! So what does my current workout schedule look like?

Monday – Cardio

Tuesday – Bench Press focus (pause sets, heavy sets, slingshot sets) and Bulk Chest

Wednesday – Back focus (pullups, rows) finish with Bulk Back

Thursday – Bulk Shoulders and Bulk Arms

Friday – Cardio

Sat – Build or Bulk Shoulders and some Tris (like skull crushers, kick backs, and dips)

Sunday – Build Back and Bis

I would love to be able to throw in some squats and deadlifts, but I am in this for the long haul! It’s not worth it to be continually hurt. If something is truly injured, REST IT! Get in and see a doc and get a plan of action.

For cardio, I am mainly using my bike. It doesn’t hurt my knees at all and I am still able to get a great sweat going. Options like Insanity or the Asylum would still be too much, but I am hopeful that I can add them back in the future.

So that was just an update on me and hopefully some encouragement if you are dealing with lagging injuries. You can still get fit, stay fit, and get stronger with an injury… as long as you are smart about it and pick what works for you! My plan going forward is to jump on Hammer and Chisel with my challenge group which starts in December. I’m making sure to order it tomorrow so I can preview it for teamRIPPED and see how I will need to modify it for my needs.

Keep bringing it teamRIPPED!
