Coach. Have you had any exposure to HMB (the metabolite of lucine)? Been hearing a lot of good things about it, but wanted to see if you had tried. Thanks.
Dan J Carper No experience. Why not just get leucine from BCAAs? I will have to read up on it.
@CoachWayne @Dan J Carper it's in a product called Results from AtLargeNutrition (as well as many others). I guess Lucine breaks down into HMB but not in the same quanities as the supplement provides. Supposedly coupled with creatine, they work synergistically together for even greater strength gains. Check it out!
Hey coach, just found out I have Low T from the doc. I have a blood test this Saturday to determine what the problem is. How do I make the decision to DAA or medication Dr. wants to prescribe? Thanks Much!! Forgot I'm 32 y.o.
Kevin W Ward That's one I would just talk with the doctor about. You can mention D-Aspartic Acid and see if he knows anything more. But I would trust the professional.
Kevin W Ward
Many things can contribute to Low T. For me, I was Hypothyroid and as a result of gaining weight I developed Sleep Apnea. The disrupted sleep and low metabolic rate killed my T levels. So if you are over weight and/or snore, get checked for sleep apnea. Also being overweight in general has been proven to lower Testosterone. I would start there because Testosterone Therapy can permanently shut down your own bodies production of the hormone. Good luck to you.
Hey Coach, I'm three weeks into your P90x, Insanity hybrid. (loving it)On the days I'm doing Insanity, post workout I'm taking the P90x recovery drink. My question is do I still want to supplement Glutamine and a monohydrate Creatine? The recovery drink has it in it, but wondering if it's a large enough dose?
Tiger, you will still want to supplement with more. The amounts in the R&R are very small. I would use it every day that you earn it. If you are diggin' deep with Insanity, you'll earn it!
Hey coach i have sent you some e mails regarding shakeology and have not heard back. just wondering if you got them
Hey Matt, you sent me an email Wednesday at 12:44, which I replied to at 1:03 -- pretty quick response if you ask me :-). Then you sent me an email today at 12:36 (less than an hour ago) requesting the sample, which I put into my to-do list. It takes longer than an hour to receive a sample in the mail LOL (just playing around). But yeah, you'll get a free sample from me the next time I get to the post office and mail them, which should be the start of next week. Hope you like it man, and keep bringing it!!!
Hey Coach, I was wondering about this for a while now and I just can't really decide on what to do so I thought I would get a another opinion on it. Im currently taking Kre Alkalyn 1500 and I like the stuff a lot. But I'm going to do the Body Beast and I was wondering if i should switch out my kre Alkalyn for the Max Creatine or just some creatine mono from the stuff here? what's your take on the idea?
Joseph, if you are getting good results with KreAlk there is no reason to switch. If you'd like to try something new, go for it! KreAlk is just pH buffered and therefore requires a smaller effective dose.
Hey coach is taking creatine during the fat shredder stage a good idea? I want to gain muscle as well while I am losing fat. Will creatine help get me bulked up?
Hey Josh, creatine has no effect on body fat, so you can definitely take it while doing the fat shredder diet. For more on that, read my article "creatine revisited" = http://teamripped.com/creatine-revisited
Hey coach Wayne is it a bad idea to take two scoops of r/r because I have been after every workout except core synergistics and x stretch and kempo?
Dominic - Two scoops is fine. Just make sure you earn it and really bring it during the workout. Otherwise it is wasted carbs.
Hey coach I have a question. I'm on week three and today is my ploy day. The past two weeks I bonked out bad during this workout because I pushed way to hard. Today I tried something different like tony orton did I mixed my recovery drink with my water and didn't bonk not one time and went through the whole workout. Do you recommend this.
Robert - That is a great way yo make sure you are fueled during a strenuous workout. Just make sure that you don't do two servings of R&R, that's be a lot of simple carbs!
Could reducing my carb intake be the problem.During the 90 days i had more than enough protein but most carbs were from fruits and vegetables and only egg whites and oatmeal in the mornings.
It's hard to say George. Did you track your nutrition? What % of protein, carbs, and fats did you take in? How often did you eat? Did you cheat on the diet? And how did you measure body fat? Look at my "nutrition tips" tab to start learning the keys to maximizing your results with a proper nutrition and supplement plan.
There are many possibilities George. I have no idea since this is the first time you've ever posted. Most likely you didn't follow the nutrition plan properly, cheated on the diet, skipped workouts, and didn't supplement with protein to keep your muscles strong. So rather than lose body fat and get stronger, you simply lost weight by dieting, and some of what you lost was muscle. And how are you concluding that you didn't lose body fat? Are you measuring body fat with something? Or are you simply looking in the mirror and still seeing that you aren't ripped?
Coach, I noticed that you don't use any fat burners, I had to stop using oxyelite pro because of the military. Question is, do i need them?
Hello Coach Wayne... I am looking to start P90X Classic and was wondering if I should take anything like N.O XPLODE or anything like that? My weight is around 230-240 and I am afraid that if I take any supplement that it will hinder my progress. Should I hold off on taking any supplements until I lose some weight first? Any information will greatly be appreciated!
Hey Michael, you can definitely take a pre-workout if you want, but it's not necessary. Supplements don't slow your results. They speed them up. Read about my favorite supplements here = http://teamripped.com/my-favorite-supplements
Hello, coach I was wondering is this a good pre workout supplement? If it isnt can you reccomend me to another one? Thank you http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11686152&cp=3593186.3984282
Yes, C4 is a good PWO. There re many good PWO supps out there. It's a matter of finding the one you like best.
Coach, Is it ok to be taking Creatine while on the fat shredder plan? Just started week 1 of phase 3 P90x. Been following the fat shredder this whole time. Thanks
Hello coach I was wondering which supplement is better myotein or results and recovery formula? I currently use myotein while my dad uses the six star whey isolate one, if the results and recovery is better, than i will start using that one, because it is cheaper as well. http://www.myotein.com/ Thank you
Hey Mohammad, Myotein is a protein powder. It's a good one, but it's not a recovery drink. It has a different purpose. Myotein is a good protein. But for post-workout, you'd be better off with a recovery drink like Results/Recovery.
OK thank you, do you think the one below is alright? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Six-Star-Pro-Nutrition-Decadent-Chocolate-Elite-Series-Professional-Strength-Whey-Isolate-1.5-lb/15724167 I am giving you this one because my dad uses this one, and he says that it is great! Plus I am trying to save money, because the cost of Shakeology is alot even with the coach discount, and i am going to also purchase the results and recovery fromula. Thank you
Hey Mohammad, that's okay, but it's a "cheap" brand. You can get something like Dymatize Iso 100 for about the same price (or even a little less) and it's FAR better quality. It's about $55 for a 5 pound tub (this is $20 for a 1.5 lb mini-tub). You can get the Dymatize from Allstarhealth.com.
Wow Mohammed, don't get that! It's junk! Its not a pre or post workout supplement its just a poor quality protein concentrate with a bunch of fillers, fat, and carbs.
I started my journey two rounds ago at 225lbs. I am currently 190lbs at 6’-1”. I moved my cal. intake from 2000 to 1800 last week to see if that would make a difference in my weight. My fat body tester formula suggests that I would need to lose 9 more lbs. to get to my goal of 8%bf. I am on my first month of P90x/Insanity (Coach Wayne schedule) so I am pretty drained at the end of the day on only 1800 cal. The biggest change for me came in the last few weeks when my wife finally got onboard with me regarding my fitness and nutritional transformation. She started using MY Fitness Pal with me this week and I could not be happier.
Coach Wayne I am still using the fat shedder plan 50%P 30%C 20%F (2000 cal.) and I am tracking everything on My Fitness Pal but my weight is stuck around 190lbs. It has not moved in 4 weeks. I have notice a difference in the mirror and my Bf%(11.2) but not on the scale. If I am taking 5g of Amplified Creatine 189 per day, will that end up adding water weight to my totals or is it just that I am losing fat and gaining the same % of muscle?
Hey Doug, creatine definitely causes water retention, so that's why the scale is not an accurate way to monitor your true progress. If your body fat is continuing to drop, that's what you want to see. What is your height and weight? You may need to drop the cals a bit unless you are tall in order to be sure you are still losing body fat.
Hi Coach, I am 2 weeks in p90x classic. But I not really able to do the leg and back very well. My knees pain and it might be due to overweight. So I am not able to push it hard. Do you think having joint supplement may help ?
