Insanity workout review =

Are you ready to hear about the program that is gonna destroy you!!???!  (In a good way of course LOL).

As a follow-up to my UPDATED P90X review, I want to give y’all an updated version of my Insanity workout review, now that I’ve been using Shaun T’s ridiculously intense DVD series in my own hybrid workouts for the last year.  My Insanity workout review is based on quite a bit of personal experience with these workouts.
Insanity is probably the most intense cardio workout routine I’ve ever done, and I’ve done a lot of conditioning with my background in football.  Nothing like this though!  It’s crazy!  …. Actually, it’s “Insane”!

Insanity workout review — how I used it =

I started using Insanity as a way to substitute a more intense cardio experience into my P90X routine, and that’s the way I recommend using it.  It is absolutely perfect to take P90X to the next level by using Insanity in place of the P90X cardio routines.  For those reading this Insanity workout review, that’s the way I’d suggest you use it as well.

Insanity workout review — options for using it in your routine =

You can do Insanity as a stand-alone program, and if you do that, you will shred body fat like you wouldn’t believe!  But since there is only 1 lifting workout (Insanity Upper Body Weight Training), you won’t build muscle mass with just Insanity.  If you want to build muscle mass, you’ll need to incorporate resistance days like P90X, P90X2, Body Beast, Tony Horton 1-on-1’s, or P90X Plus.

In all fairness to my Insanity workout review, I have never done the full 63 days of Insanity as a stand-alone program since my goal is to build muscle mass and get ripped.  But for the last year I’ve been doing 3 Insanity workouts per week as part of my hybrid workouts, and I aboslutely LOVE Insanity and highly recommend it.

Insanity workout review — Cardio out of this world!

The cardio is super intense.  You will be left drenched in sweat, heart racing, and feeling like you’ve done the impossible when you finish one of these workouts.  It’s an awesome feeling!  My heart rate goes over 180 for much of the workout.

Insanity workout review — Get ready!!

It’s not only a physical challenge, but a mental one!  You’ve got to be ready to DIG DEEP on your Insanity days or you’ll never make it!!  If you feel like the P90X cardio routines aren’t pushing you hard enough, this is your answer!

One other thing I’ll mention in this Insanity workout review is that there is a 3 DVD deluxe upgrade(which costs $45).  It includes 3 more DVD’s.  One is an upper body weight lifting routine, which I really like (I use it in my hybrid workout as a lift day).  There is also a CRAZY hard ab routine (Insane Abs) that lasts over 30 minutes!  (OUCH!).  Plus, there’s a fun sports interval routine that might be the funnest cardio routine yet if you have a sports background and like sports related drills.  Check them out before you buy the base package because I think those 3 extra DVD’s are well worth the price difference.

Insanity workout review — Conclusions

Insanity is the real deal.  That’s the take home message of this Insanity workout review.  It’s not easy.  It’s incredibly hard, in fact.  And that’s why it gets people so ripped!  Body fat can’t help but melt away.

Post your thoughts below in the comment section if you’ve tried Insanity, or if you have questions about it.  I hope this Insanity workout review helps you make a great decision in your plan to get RIPPED!
