Hey teamRIPPED!

How was everyone’s week?  School is in full force, so it’s a little less chaotic at home for my wife.  Our youngest, Will (3), started pre-school this year, and Xander (6 with special needs) is also doing a special ed class at school, so for the first time in over a decade my wife doesn’t have little ones at her feet all day long.  Although, just to make sure she didn’t get bored, my wife is now diving into the world of being a “homeschool mom”!  We decided to keep our oldest, Olivia (12) home this year for 7th grade.  It was a better fit for her particular strengths and weaknesses, and it will enable her to really pour herself into her passion, which is piano and music.  So I’m excited to see how she grows and develops in her areas of giftedness this year.

My middle 3 are all rocking full time school.  Luke (8) is doing flag football, so I’m gonna love watching his games this fall.  He’s one of the 2 biggest kids on the team, and he’s also one of the fastest.  But he has no lateral quickness … just straight ahead speed.   I’m trying to convince him to channel his inner Megatron and spread the field as a big fast wideout.  It’s either that, or he’ll be relegated to follow in his dad’s footsteps as a lineman LOL!

Over Labor Day, we went to a church retreat and had a blast.  Canoeing, ropes course, games and competitions …. and lots of swimming.  The have a big bridge that crosses the creek, and under it are mounted monkey bars and “funky bars”.  The monkey bar side is nothing, but the funky bar side is a bit of a challenge.  There are rings, globe grasps (you have to grip a que ball), and all sorts of other obstacles that test your grip and your strength.  I’ve never tried that kind of thing before, and even though I’m strong, I also weigh 225 lbs and thought I’d struggle on it.  My kids and the other youth from the church kept taunting me until I tried it, and much to my delight I rocked it.  I made it all the way to the end and “rang the bell” — victory!  I also tried my hand at the big trapeeze / rings course that traverses the creek and I made it across that as well.  Feeling over-confident, I tried it again and missed a grab …. DOH!  SPLASH!  I didn’t look quite so invincible after that.  LOL!

I’ll be finishing up my current round of Body Beast next week, and as I consider what hybrid / combo to go with next, I still think Body Beast will make up the lift days.  I’m still enjoying them immensely.  Depending on what programs come down the pipeline, and what the timing of their release is, I anticipate that I’ll spend the fall doing primarily Body Beast / P90X style workouts (strength based).  Then in the early spring I’ll switch to more cardio/core/performance work with X2/Asylum/T25 as spring and summer roll in.  That will give me some variety in workout style and objectives, and variety with new goals and objectives is what keeps working out fun and fresh.

How about you?  What are you going to do this fall?  What workout program?  What goals and objectives will you set out to reach by winter?  Bulk up?  Add muscle?  Get stronger?  Lose body fat?  Get faster?

Set a goal.  Write it down.  And then go make it happen!

And 2 favors that I ask:

1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them.  Click the share links below them and share them on FB, twitter, etc.  It really helps me get more exposure and grow teamRIPPED!

2) Also, as always, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site, www.teamRIPPED.com, or by logging in to www.teambeachbody.com to do your shopping (If you buy from the plain beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!

Keep bringing it and inspiring others to do the same gang!!
