Weekend Update!

Hey teamRIPPED!

Whew, it’s been a regular Birthday-Fest around my house!  I have 3 April birthdays with my kiddos.  Xander turned 6 on April 4th.  Olivia turned 12 on April 7th.  And Luke turns 8 on April 14th.   Cake and ice cream are everywhere!  LOL!

What I’ve found over the past few years is that it’s very hard to sit there and watch people eat cake and ice cream.  It takes a lot of willpower.  However, it makes it a LOT easier if there are also healthy options.  I like to always have a healthy tray of finger foods like apple slices and baby carrots.  That way if I choose not to eat cake and ice cream, I don’t just sit there drooling.  I am eating and chewing and swallowing and avoid that deprived feeling.  If you struggle with the temptations at parties, try that.  Your abs will thank you! :-)

How are the workouts going?  Remember, if you are looking for a jolt of cardio intensity, Insanity Challenge Packs are on sale for the month of April — $180 gets you the Insanity workout program, Shakeology, the VIP club membership, and free shipping.  You save nearly $100 compared to buying separately.  Learn more about the Insanity Challenge Pack here.

I took a look at my YouTube channel this week and saw that my videos have now gone over 2.6 million total views.  The word is getting out!  If you need some tips on the workouts, supplements, or some motivation, be sure you’ve checked out my YouTube Video Library.  Here’s the direct link.

This past week I posted 2 very helpful articles for you =

– one detailing my most recent experiences with Creatine and how I interpret the wealth of data on the supplement. (Back to Creatine)

– and one about the scale and what weight means to your body transformation goals. (Get Over the Scale)

If you missed those, be sure you check them out.

Also, I get asked all the time about creatine and weight loss.  It usually goes something like this = “If I’m trying to lose weight, should I avoid creatine?”.  My answer is NO!  Creatine has no effect on body fat.  It will slow your weight loss by virtue of the fact that it retains fluids in the muscles, but it won’t slow your fat loss.  (Remember, we care more about FAT loss than WEIGHT loss).  So even when dropping fat, go for it if you want the benefits of creatine for your muscle growth and strength.  I used creatine during my Round 1 and it turned out just fine!

BRING IT!!

And 2 favors that I ask:

1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them.  Click the share links below them and share them on FB, twitter, etc.  It really helps me get more exposure and grow teamRIPPED!

2) Also, as always, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site, www.teamRIPPED.com, or by logging in to www.teambeachbody.com to do your shopping (If you buy from the plain beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!

Keep bringing it and inspiring others to do the same gang!!

Hey guys hope everyone is having a great weekend . I would just like to through something out there if i may . I've been doing great with my exercise and nutrition . Lost 37lb up til now and couldn't be happier with the way things are going . BUT.......... Since Thursday this week i have what i can only describe as gone on a 'self distruct' mission ! Eating all kinds of 'CRAP' basically ... none stop .. as if the world were going to end and i had to consume as much rubbish as possible ... WHY !! .. why would i do such a thing after all the sweat and tears and down right hard work ... why would i do this ... So i guess I'm asking if anyone else has encountered this themselves at any point ... feel like a complete 'let down' especially to myself . Tomorrow is a new day and I WILL get myself back to the way things were . Hope you all don'y mind me posting this and i would appreciate your feedback

Congratulation to your kids coach! coach I´m in the middle of a cutting round, tracking everything with MFP. Following your advice I workout in the mornings after taking a scoop of whey, is it ok if I add half a cup of oatmeal for some extra energy or will it hurt the cutting process? Thanks

@Cesarg As long as you track that oatmeal, it is completely fine. Keep up the good work!
