What makes a great transformation? I’ll tell ya…

Every Thursday I try to run a motivational transformation from teamRIPPED. I love getting emails from TR members as they finish a program or reach a milestone and then getting to share those results! They keep me pumped up and I don’t think there is anything better than seeing the fruit of your hard work!

Today I want to give you some of the pieces I think are needed to make a great transformation. As I think about all the GREAT before and afters I have seen, these are the things that stick out.

5 Steps to Sharing a GREAT Transformation

1.) Have a striking before and after! This almost goes without saying but to have a great transformation, you actually have to have a great transformation. Your after pics need to be almost shockingly different than your before pics. This doesn’t mean always look like 6 pack abs either. I have been floored at people that have lost TONS of weight. The Beachbody Challenge winners are a good example of that. They don’t always get all the way to ripped but their transformations are huge. You can easily look at the before and after pics and say, “WOW! They crushed it!”

So whether you have a lot of weight to lose or only 20 pounds, your before and afters make your transformation story. In most cases, if you are starting out with less to lose the really striking transformations come from getting shredded. Just remember it’s about showcasing the change you made. Take a look a Roger M. of teamRIPPED. He wasn’t morbidly obese, but he had a $25,000 transformation and he showcased it well!

2.) Take great photos. This really gets back to your before and after pics, but make sure you take quality pictures. Even if you think you’ll never show them to anyone else, take pictures every 30 days. KEEP THEM SAFE AND TAKE DAY 1 PICS NO MATTER HOW ‘BAD’ YOU THINK THEY ARE! Take them in similar lighting and at a similar distance. Transformation stories don’t inspire as much when you have to question if there is been some tricky camerawork. Try to even use the same pair of shorts or workout gear. But take them every 30 days and save them on your computer! Make sure to take them in is high of resolution as you can in case you want to turn them in for the Beachbody Challenge.

Pictures are also great way to see progress. It’s easy to miss the small changes if you’re just looking at yourself in the mirror every day. Putting 30 days in between each set of pictures can really show you how your hard work is paying off.

3. Take ALL your measurements! The more data of the better! Try to record more than just your weight. Take measurements around your body and make sure you’re tracking your body fat %. If you can get into the

doctor and have blood work at the start of your transformation and at the end, that’s even better. I’m always inspired by people that are improving their health and the numbers tell the real story. Think about how cool it will be to say, “I lost 23 lbs, 13% body fat, and gained 1″ in each arm!” You will never know for sure unless you are taking good measurements.

4.) Record some workouts. This is good for a lot of reasons. Video is a great way to check your form, and if you’re planning on making a transformation video, having workout footage from along your journey is really cool. You can again showcase how you’ve changed in the workouts. Moves that were once hard are now easy for you!

5.) Tell YOUR Story! This is your story, so tell it to people. Everyone is going to experience different things along their journey and you never know how your experiences will inspire her motivate others. When you think about sharing your transformation, make it your own. Share about what you struggled with, where you found help, and where you finally found success!

Show it off!

Now that you’re done with your transformation, share it! You’ve put in the work and now it’s time to share it! Send me an email if you don’t want to share publicly. Show your family your before and after pics. You worked hard and you should feel proud! Posted in the challenge group too.
