Ever have a tough week? No matter what you seem to do, it’s just tough! These types of weeks are bound to happen. So what can you do to make sure you are making progress and aren’t sidetracked when things get tough.

Winning During Tough Weeks

I just came off of a tough week. That is what drove me to write this post. It was long, busy, and just plain tough! I know that all y’all have tough weeks too. I hear about them from time to time. So what can you do to win during these tough weeks? Here are my top 5 tips to crush TOUGH WEEKS!

#1 Remember your WHY

Whenever things are tough… or you are just tired. Remember your why. Maybe you don’t feel like working out, but WHY is making this change so important? WHY is it worth the effort to push through? Get at the heart of your WHY.

#2 Push Play and Feel Great

Your workouts will do so much to improve your mood. So make sure they happen! Don’t get down and then feel worse cuz you missed your workouts. Use them to power a positive attitude to help crush your tough week!

Use #3 and #5 to make sure your workouts happen.

#3 Keep Your Schedule

As far as you can, do everything you can to keep your schedule. Make your workouts happen! That is why I love early morning workouts. I get mine done before the day even begins. During tough weeks, it makes all the difference.

If you have to move your workout, reverse engineer your day. For example, if I had to miss my morning workout due to dropping kids off early somewhere, I would look at the day and see where I can fit my workout in. Then I would build my day around it. I KNOW I need 1 hour, find what works and then place everything else in the spaces between.

#4 Don’t Slack on Nutrition

Like #2, this one will help your mental fortitude. You need to double down on nutrition when things get tough. It will be really tempting to grab wait fast, easy, and bad for you when things are difficult. It might sound good at the time, but then you will have to wrestle with the guilt of messing up and the sluggish feeling of bad food. Get your mind right and fuel your fight with the best!

#5 Move Rest Days and Use Short Workouts

When all else fails in a crazy schedule and week, move things around. If it makes all the sense in the world to move your rest day, do it! Just make sure you still do your workouts.

If the hour-long workout is too much for Tuesday, break out T25 or 22MHC and still get a great workout in. Something is FAR better than nothing. And you have just kept your commitment and honored your WHY.
