Hello everyone! I am Steven Q. R. I am 38 years old with two kids (13 and 7) and married for 15 years to the love of my life. I am a Director in a Fortune 1000 Financial Services company and live in the Atlanta metropolitan area. I am an astute Believer in Jesus Christ and overall simply a normal guy. I am 5′ 11″ and ranged between 212 – 214 pounds. Why do I emphasize “normal”? Because I was positive that to have the elite physique, you had to be obsessed! You had to quit your job, not have a family, eat next to nothing, work out 5 times a day for 2 hours each time and do nothing except focus on your health. Why did I have that erroneous idea? Because of all I was doing to maintain my health that still wasn’t giving me the results I wanted. For years, I have been running consistently 3 – 10 miles. In fact, for the past two (2) years I have been running everyday…7 days a week. Plus, I thought weight was solely a math equation: if you eat less than you burn, you’ll lose weight and have the physique you want. So, I slashed my calories down to 1600-1800. That still didn’t seem to work. The more I was running, the less I seemed to get rid of the fat. Here is a picture of my results after years of running and repressed caloric intake:
Well, about 4 months ago I was perusing the web and landed on the TeamRIPPED website with Coach Wayne. The thing that got me was look at his YouTube story. I related to him and said, “Hey, I wonder if that could work for me.” I had done P90X before, but didn’t follow the nutrition so didn’t see the results I wanted. I decided to give Body Beast a try. This time I decided to go hard core with nutrition as well. I reached out to Coach Wayne who indicated I likely had hurt my metabolism with such repressed caloric intake given the amount of work I was doing. He walked me through how to change my eating via the volumes of information on his website. I was introduced to something I had NEVER focused on: macronutrients. So, game on. I changed my eating to 50/30/20 (protein/carbs/fat) and went to 1900 calories. I lowered my running to only 1 mile a day. And I started a few vitamin supplements (creatine and suma root). Oh boy…this “normal” guy got some abnormal results. Here is my picture after one (1) round of the 12 week Body Beast program:
The good news is that I am not near done with the transformation. I’ve learned principles that have been embedded into my daily life. Now, I am up to 2400 calories and fluctuate between 40/40/20 and 50/30/20 (protein/carb/fat respectively). My weight fluctuates between about 202-206. It seems crazy that I have lost weight and lost fat while consuming considerably more calories. I LOVE IT!!!! Bottom line is this can be done by anyone. The only thing I did that was “special” was I made a commitment to show up in the weight room day in and day out as well as continue to focus on my eating. ANYBODY else can do the same!!!!! I’m glad that I’ve earned a place on the Team RIPPED team!!!!! THANKS COACH WAYNE!!!!!
