This post is bad for “the bottom line”.  But I don’t care!

I really feel like it’s important that even though I’m here to talk fitness and nutrition, that I take a slight diversion to talk about money.  What is the cause of most divorces in this country?  It’s money problems!  What is one of the major causes of relationship breakdowns in general?  Money problems!

Are you still paying off debts you racked up over the holidays?  Did you take a holiday trip and put it on a 20% interest rate credit card?  It’s crazy!  And it sets us up for financial failure!  We don’t sabotage our workouts by eating a box of Krispy Kremes (or at least we better not!), so why would we sabotage our budget by buying things we don’t have the ability to pay for?

And what does this have to do with teamRIPPED, Beachbody, P90X3, Body Beast, or The Asylum?  Well, maybe nothing.

Maybe you have enough money to afford the workouts, the supplements, and it’s not putting a financial stress on your relationships.  Maybe you’ve found ways to re-arrange your budget so that you can prioritize your fitness without putting extra stress on the bank account (which I strongly encourage — you’d be surprised that eating healthy can actually SAVE you money if you do it wisely!).  If so, great!  That’s what I did, and what many others do.

However, there may be some of you out there who really want to do these workouts, but money is so tight right now that you just don’t know how to fit it into the budget.  Or perhaps you are dying to use Shakeology but your significant other won’t let you spend that much on a supplement.  What should you do?  I’ll tell you right now.  Choose the relationship!  Even if it means you don’t have the supplements you want or the ideal set-up for your workouts.  Trust me!  You’ll be making the wise decision!

Is being unhealthy and out of shape bad?  Of course!  But so is ruining your relationships, and so is ruining your budget!  Be smart!  Plan!  Budget!

You may want to do P90X, Shakeology, and a diet rich in variety to help you reach your goals.  But if money is tight, a workout program using no equipment like Insanity might be your best option, and you may have to get used to the idea that your daily diet will have a lot of oatmeal and tuna.  So be it!  Make it happen, and keep your financial health as strong as your body!

And don’t bite off more than you can chew (both literally and figuratively!!!) LOL!
