How is everyone this week? Did you survive Memorial Day with your diet in check? I posted an article on Memorial Day (aren’t I so mean LOL) all about impulse choices and how we need to be strong and committed toward our long term goals. If you slipped up over Memorial Day, read that article HERE and resolve to get back on track ASAP, because it’s a slippery slope once you start caving into those temptations. It’s so hard to stop!!!
I hope everyone got a chance to see our awesome X2 Crew team video, which is our entry into the P90X2 Challenge to be judged by Tony Horton …. that is if there are still any competitors left LOL! I think we might by the last man standing in this challenge cuz I haven’t heard anything about the results of the opponents or their video entry. We’ll see …. :-)
I had a great Memorial Day weekend. We got out of town for a nice long weekend and went to Branson. We played at the lake and went to Silver Dollar City (an amusement park). It was nice escaping the usual routine. But never fear … I can always get my workouts done no matter where I go. The first items I packed in my car ….
No problems! I was doing pullups on the hotel room doorway. The only one that fit the pullup bar was the entry door, so I’m glad no one walked by while I was knocking out pullups LOL. They would have thought me to be crazy …. maybe I am LOL!
And what week would be complete without more amazing teamRIPPED success stories? Check out Elijah S, who has been crushing it and getting a great 6 pack!
And then there is Bill D., who just finished P90X and melted a ton of body fat. Way to go man!
Those are some AWESOME 90 day results right there! Wow! Way to go fellas!
And 2 favors that I ask:
1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them. Click the share links below them and share them on FB, twitter, etc. It really helps me get more exposure and grow teamRIPPED!
2) Also, as always, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site, www.teamRIPPED.com, or by logging in to www.teambeachbody.com to do your shopping (If you buy from the plain beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Keep bringing it and inspiring others to do the same gang!!
Hey Coach, I know you can't say much of anything at all about Body Beast but would you be able to tell us if there is going to be a preorder before the new program is released? Thank You.
Hey Adrian, there won't be a pre-order as far as I know, since it will be coming out within a month already (so a pre-order at this point would be pointless since it's almost here).
I called them and the order wasn't placed. I just ordered again now and got a confirmation. WOHOOOOOOO :D. Thanks. Show some happiness to the change I am about to go through with Shakeology sir, LOL :)
Try calling that number Khaled. Like I said, I checked your account from my end, and it shows no order.
Ok Coach. I ordered a Shakeolog bulk bag yesterday with you as my coach. I filled everything and pressed submit; then I got redirected to the homepage of the website. I never got a confirmation for the order on the website or on my submitted e-mail up till now. How do I know that the order was placed ?? Is there any way you can know ??
Hey Coach. Ordering Shakeology now. I am logged in on teambeachbody.com and have you as my Coach, you get commission this way, right ?
Yes, I do Khaled. Thanks for asking! As for the shipping options, it's whichever you want (they have different prices on shipping depending on how fast you want it delivered).
All of this really helped sir. I will use your advice about not caring what people think and being strong. I will try to look for someone I trust to give me honest opinion. All my close friends love me and everything. It is just that some physically weak dude was being made fun of yesterday and I stepped in really hard and made problems with everyone so everyone criticized me. It happens a lot, that people try to "play" with my mind to make me change my resolve. Thanks a lot again sir.
I understand everything you said. But am I not supposed to be critical of myself ? how do I know that my personality doesn't truly suck ? like, am I the only one who is supposed to evaluate myself ?
Don't you have anyone in your life you can trust to give you honest, fair, feedback? Clearly I can't talk to you about your personality. You are across the world and I don't know you outside of what you post here. If you don't have close family to discuss this with, I'd encourage you to visit with a counselor at school or someone else who will be objective and honest with you.
Well. I am getting a lot of pressure from the people around me, they make me feel like I am a bad person, my friends and even the people I don't like always make me doubt myself and make me feel like my personality SUCKS. Have you ever felt that ?? what do I do ?? I feel like I need to just keep working to SATISFY how these people think I should become.
Just like Tony Horton says in the P90X2 videos, "I stopped caring what people think about me a LONG time ago". That's the perfect perspective. If we are worried about what others think of us, it keeps us sensitive, weak in mind, and critical of ourselves. The moment we stop worrying about trying to be what others want us to be, we get a self confidence and strength that becomes very intriguing and attractive to others. There will always be criticism and peer pressure. Stand firm in what you believe, and don't be swayed by negativity.
Hey Coach! What p90x2 videos are you in? I just started my p90x2 round and I'm looking forward to seeing you!!
Hi coach I'm on week 12 and I am taking creatine and protein shakes and I see my self in mirror and don't see much more changes have I hit a plateau wall? But I have gone from 15% body fat too 11% body fat is it just me or does this happen, my diet is right on and dialed in tight!
Hey Daniel, it's hard for me to say. If the #'s are changing, you clearly aren't in a plateau. As for why you don't notice the difference hen you look, it's probably cuz you are looking all the time lol. Wait and compare your day 1, 30, 60, and 90 pics and I guarantee you will see the difference.
Tony was saying recently on his video chat you can get replacement bike handles and cut them length wise from end to end.. Then slip them over the pullup bars. He also mentioned medical tape (check a couple of textures) or tennis racket tape. They all can increase grip, and are by nature pretty durable. You can get those supplies from dept. stores, bike shop, CVS, etc.
The grips on my p90x pullup bar are starting to rip apart. Are those replacement grips on your bar in that picture? If so where did you get them?
They are not replacement grips. They are the grips it comes with. I don't know if/where you can get replacement grips if yours are ripping. Did you get yours from Beachbody?
Hey coach I'll be starting X2 in July but do not have the equipments needed yet! What weight medicine ball would you recommend for a 5' 110 female? I'm also thinking of getting the power stands but heard that the new plastic ones are not really good. What's your opinion on this? :) thanks for answering all my questions!
Hey Vee, you'd probably like the 8# med balls. And I have both the plastic and the metal ones (as you can see, the plastic ones are the ones I have in the pic above). I like them just fine. They are very sturdy.
Hey coach, do you have any snacks that will go with the X2 Fat shredder diet. I have to be able to bring it to school. Thanks!
Sure Josh. Look in the "nutrition tips" tab and you'll see a couple helpful articles (snacking well and fat shredder foods). Hope that helps!
Thanks Coach. I thought it would be beneficial, but wanted to double check. Now that you mention it, I do remember times Tony talked about using it during a workout in X1.
Coach- I've read quite a few articles and comments on your site, but haven't seen this question posed. I've been toying with the idea of drinking the R&R formula between Total Body and ARX2. This was week 4 of phase one, and I finally pulled the trigger and did it. I generally take about a 10 min break to get my mind right for ARX2 after the cool down of the main workout (unless time restricted due to class/work). So, I thought my body is likely entering a catabolic state post-workout but pre-ARX2. My question is does taking the R&R between the two create a more effective or less effective use of the product, or do you think the difference is minimal and to do what works for me? I felt geared up for ARX2 and energized after completing it. ARX2 isn't meant to be a massive calorie burner. It's just meant to help shred the abs for their debut when your bf% gets low enough. At least that's my interpretation, and, unless you have knowledge otherwise, I really liked taking the R&R between the two. I just want to make sure I'm not burning up all that glucose needed for muscle repair. Thanks- Derek
Hey Derek, you can definitely use the R/R between the workout and the abs. You can use it DURING the workout if you want (both Shaun T and Tony mention that in the videos). You can do the abs immediately after the workout, or at a different time of day entirely. Those are all perfectly acceptable options.
Thanks coach! that's what I found myself doing this morning, I was getting cramps all over my body from trying to keep good form lol
hey coach wayne i read ur article where it tells us how many calories to eat for a fat shredder diet but it doesnt say how many carbs to eat? im having a hard time understanding this formula of 50 protein 30 carbs and 20 fat% .wen u say 30 percent carns how does it transalte to 11 170 pounds pleases.sorry thnks
Hey Jonathan, in the nutrition tips tab, right after the "dialing it in" article that explains the calories and %, there is also an article called "the nutrition guide" that gives you the calculations for converting % to grams.
Hey coach I had a question, see I just started p90x2 and the balance aspect of phase 1 is beyond difficult for me. For example today I did total body and it was near impossible to do the moves on the stability ball! :o Any tips on how to improve my balance, or anything for me to get the most out of this phase of the program?
Hey Rolando, that's how it's supposed to be! Keep pushing play and you'll keep getting better. Try to focus on form over weight and reps.
Coach, I meant I bought a non-Beachbody pull-up bar that is identical (in look), mine is the GymMaster one that is £24.99 on Amazon but the Beachbody one is £64.99. I was just commenting on it being weird that I got Beachbody installation instructions with mine despite it not being from Beachbody. Sorry about the ambiguity.
Oh, yeah I forgot you are overseas. That's why the BB one is so much more for you. I was just wondering how you got one that was $15 LOL! Anyways, maybe the makers of your pullup bar simply copy the BB instructions for theirs since it's similar (not sure). Keep bringing it!
Wayne, I think the hotel staff did see you but who was gonna dare approach a 8'7", 6% bodyfat, Hulk looking guy doing pull ups? LOL.
Coach, I know Tony says no excuses, especially in the hotel room, but in the hallway... WOW.. that is serious stuff! You really are a Beast.. LOL!!! Way to bring it coach!
Very nice coach. On the week of the 25th my family and I are renting out a lake house in the adirondacks in upstate NY. I'm going to find a nice thick branch to do my pullups from.
Hi Coach, I had a super-busy week with two of my end-of-year exams for my Maths degree with the birth of my son in-between. I missed two days of workouts but back on the horse after. Quick question about the pictured pull-up bar, is it the official Beachbody one? I recently bought an identical one off Amazon but opted for the unofficial one that was about a third of the price yet it still came with Beachbody instructions. Weird huh? Although I havent commented I have been reading daily so just wanted to mention that your summer plans are awesome, you are such an inspiration not only as a coach but as a person.
