Coach W Checking In!!

Hey teamRIPPED!!

How is everyone doing this week? I hope you all had a very blessed Easter!  HE IS RISEN!

I also hope you resisted all the jelly beans, reeses eggs, etc.  It’s been tough at my house.  We had a birthday party for my son on April 4th, another one for my daughter April 7th, an Easter party April 8th, and last but not least my other son’s birthday party this coming Saturday, April 14th.  We had cakes, brownies, more candy and M&M’s than I’ve seen in ages, and of course the peer pressure of family and friends all around me the whole time eating this stuff.

What’s your over/under on how many pieces of candy Coach Wayne had?  If you guessed 1, you were one too many! :-).

That’s right, I had ZERO.  Not a single piece.  Not a single M.  Not a single jelly bean.  NADA!  Not a crumb of the brownies.

Was it easy?  Of course not.  It took guts and will power.  It’s not any easier for me to resist than it is for you.  But if I want to sit here and tell you guys to suck it up, then I am going to lead by example.  It’s the final week of my P90X2 challenge, and I have told y’all for weeks that I’m going to impress you with my results.  If I meant what I said, and said what I meant, that means NO CHEATING!  And I’m sticking to it.  I hope you guys are as serious about your results as I am about mine.  That’s what gets you awesome results.  You can’t just WANT them — you have to MAKE IT HAPPEN!

I am so pumped that we are on the last week of our P90X2 Challenge.  The teamRIPPED X2 Crew is going to blow you guys away with our final results.  Once we complete day 90 (which will be Sunday April 15th), we will start compiling our team video (thanks to Brendan M. for the help he’ll be providing as he leads that monster project!!).  And I can guarantee you it will blow your mind to see what the X2 Crew has accomplished over the last 90 days.  Last I heard, we are still in a team challenge vs. team Xcellent Fitness, but they’ve been very quiet lately.  No smack talking coming from their camp.  I think we all know the inevitable beat down that is coming!!!!  :-)

And what week is complete without more awesome results coming from our team?  Check out Alexander V., who just finished his first round of P90X.  It’s not easy.  It takes commitment.  It takes accountability.  But it’s such an amazing feeling to conquer!!  Congrats Alex!  Keep up the great work!

And 2 favors that I ask:

1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them.  Click the share links below them and share them on FB, twitter, etc.  It really helps me get more exposure and grow teamRIPPED!

2) Also, as always, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site, www.teamRIPPED.com, or by logging in to www.teambeachbody.com to do your shopping (If you buy from the plain beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!

Keep bringing it and inspiring others to do the same gang!!

Wayne Wyatt

Hey Coach, I just signed up for beach body and requested you as my coach. I have completed 1 round of p90x and followed everything to a T. However, I added a cardio session everyday after every workout which I believe impacted my results negatively. I did not gain much muscle mass and lost a moderate amount of body fat. I'm going to give this another try and start round 2 on monday. Any tips to maximize my results. I'm mostly looking on gaining muscle mass without gaining too much body fat. Thanks.

Great Alex! Good to have you! Yes, I've got a whole section of tips to maximize your results (the "getting started right" tab). Be sure you read through the nutrition links and join up with one of our accountability groups!

hey coach, quick question. I know that you should get protein evenly throughout the day.But what is a good limit for grams of protein in a single meal?

Divide your daily total by tr number of meals and snacks, and that's a good target for each meal. If you are trying to get 250g for the day and you eat 6x, that would be roughly 40 g per meal and snack.

Hello Coach Wayne, I wanted to ask you if you ever tried or thought about trying the "300 workout"? My son is a Sgt. in the Marines and was telling me it is great. By the way you did a good job in PAP upper (4 sets of 10 reps of towel pull-ups is tough/tiring).

Hey Paul, I've seen the Spartan 300 workout but I've never done it. It looks like a good full body circuit workout. I assume you do it for time? Looks like it would make a fun challenge.

Coach Wayne, Just finished P90X2...my 9th round! Gonna spend a couple of weeks doing workouts from P90X, One on Ones, Insanity, and Asylum that I've been missing. But I'm getting antsy for what's next! What are your plans...got any new crazy hybrids to share or other Beachbody programs to try?

Hey Brett, my plan is to do another round of P90X2 next. Although I may spend a month doing a Les Mills Pump / Asylum hybrid just to shred it up a bit, since P90X2 is a little light on the cardio conditioning.

I don't see how it's any of our concern. I can't wait to get ripped up like that. Coach is insanely ripped also, and don't think he photoshopped anything. Although...he doesn't have any tats so how can we be sure *wink*. Congrats to all who are meeting their goals. I'm on the road to it and hope to join you soon :).

Coach and everyone else, I was not trying to insult anyone, I believe in teamripped and has been a huge inspiration to me. I've seen some great legit transformations and if this is legit then I feel like he should probably get a different picture because the angle lighting or something just makes this look extremely fake in my opinion. But to alexander, Congrats good job if this is his transformation.

Coach, thanks for praising the Lord at the beginning. He is indeed risen! By His wounds we are healed. Also, thanks for being involved with myfitnesspal. I've struggled with diet forever and seeing your consistency with your approach is not only encouraging, but also a great guide. I think today was the first day that I actually hit my % goals with protein, fat and carbs while maintaining my caloric threshold. ALL of teamripped: keep digging. You guys all inspire me.

Alexander great job, Teamripped nation please don't question a persons commitment and dedication. I believe the results photo is a tighter photo (zoomed in) and the 90 day box covers his right arm up. I think Alexander also has a video on youtube that is also awsome!!! again Alexander great job

It really upsets me when people get accused of things. I don't see why any of us here would lie about our results. Furthermore, when you do start showing people your changes, they tend to laugh but deep inside they are jealous. They really are. Others will say, well, you know men lose more weight, or oh your 30, you got the time, etc. Last time, my co-worker saw a pic and then said oh man, you're in good shape. My other co-worker saw it and said, well, yeah, he's 31. I said: "well, show me how many 31 year old people here look like me, and I'm not done! I will gain muscle." Then I said: "btw, I know someone who is in better shape than me, has 5 kids and he's 39."

hi coach , i have just joined teamripped and assigned you as my coach, your site is great and full of great info, i am currently on my first round of p90x/insanity week 7 and i am very excited to see the final result, i started at 172lbs and am now 156lbs body fat coming off fast, looking forward to exploring your site cheers

Awesome Lanmck! Looking forward to it!

When your transformation is so good that you get accused of photoshopping your results, you're doing something right. Just like coach and so many others have been accused of taking steroids. It comes down to hard, consistent work. Good work Alexander, good work indeed.

Coach Im a really big fan and supporter of yours but I gotta tell you that picture does not seem right first I question his tattoos and they are alot brighter in day 90 which could have possibly been touched up after he got into shape... I would do that... but his tattoo on his right arm is missing a piece of it on day 90 compared to day 1... Im sorry coach but I seriously consider that picture a fake.

Hey John, I'll let Alex defend himself on that, but I think the angle of the photo is why you don't see the top of the tatoo on his right arm in Day 90. And besides, why would he touch up his right arm? That's not even what people are looking at. The impressive part (in my opinion) is the fact that he built upper body musculature, got great ab definition, and lost a ton of body fat. How would he have doctored that?

Wow busy month, Coach! I was wondering how you keep your kids eating healthy. Ive been setting a good example for mt kids but they still love getting candy and pastries from friends and well meaning relatives... Do you only allow it on special occasions? Thanks :)

Hey Kay, kids are kids and my focus with my kids isn't legalistic or rigid. Of course I let them have desserts a couple times per week, and sweets / candy. But I make sure they understand it's a treat, and that too much of it can lead to lots of long term regrets and health problems. My goal with my kids is to let them enjoy the things they like, but to help train them to like healthy foods and make wise choices.

@Marlon, I had exactly the same experience over Easter, plenty of people saying I looked "too thin" and trying to force food on me but I held out. Its much more difficult when you were used to eating what you wanted but I find that every event like Easter or my daughters friends birthdays get a little easier. Chocolate/sweet-free for 5 months now :)

Hey Coach! Just started my Insanity on Monday. I've followed my nutrition guide (fat shredder) to a T and lemme tell ya...it's HARD to eat so many GOOD calories! But I'm feelin great and really enjoying the workouts. Keep up the great work on your site as I always come back and check things out. Especially the nutrition part.

Awesome Tyler! Way to dig deep! Keep it up!

Awesome results, Alexander! Nice work!

Sounds like your busy in July. Lol

I had zero candy. I have never been hooked on it so it was no problem. I did get a lot of the "You lost a lot of weight, maybe you should it some of this." It was starting very annoying especially coming from people that got extra 20 lbs to share. I had eaten at home before I went so I was pretty full. I got a funny question though, someone asked me what they should do to get abs like mine's and they asked me what diet I following?. I said: "first, you need to stop eating so much and my diet it's called the 2700-3k calories a day. Now, is that a diet?" LOL. I pointed out that the occasional 10-15 minute ab workout helps a bit :-p

LOL nice Marlon!! :-)

Thanks for the mention coach. Means a lot.

coach I more round and I want my hall of fame spot....:)

He is risen indeed! Great job coach, I'm with you. A lot of temptation last weekend... 0 junk! Day 38 and feeling great!
