Are you struggling to stay committed because of limitations beyond your control? Maybe you don’t have the perfect schedule, the perfect setting for doing the workouts, or the perfect options for nutrition and supplements? Are you going to throw in the towel and give up, or are you going to DO YOUR BEST AND FORGET THE REST???? Let me start this check-in by highlighting the awesome results of Antonio J., a U.S. Army soldier who is stationed overseas. With the Army mess hall, his choices are limited for the nutrition plan, and clearly he isn’t in the ideal setting or schedule — he’s in the middle of a desert!!! — but he made no excuses, and he got some AWESOME results in just 90 days. Way to Bring it Anthony. And thank you for protecting us! God bless you man!
Antonio’s abs are starting to really pop, but he’s not happy yet. He’ll keep bringing it and keep us updated. He’s a few weeks into Round 2 already and I know he’s headed for our Hall of Fame!
The vegan challenge is officially underway! We had a flood of interested folks join the private FB page and go through the next 60 days eating a whole food plant based diet. This will be a fun challenge, and I’m excited to have such a large group of people with multiple different goals going through this so we can compare experiences. We will all learn a lot about nutrition in the next 60 days! If you missed it, read yesterday’s article for details on how to join us!
I hope everyone behaved themselves on Halloween! It won’t get any easier with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up. Start planning now on what wise food choices you can make. Might someone make fun of you for choosing healthy foods while everyone else pigs out? Almost certainly! But SO WHAT!??!?! This isn’t junior high and we don’t need to put up with peer pressure. Be strong and confident! Don’t let fat, lazy, out-of-shape people talk you into sidetracking your goals just so they can justify their poor choices!
In some very sad news, we had a devastating tragedy occur for one of our teamRIPPED members. Bruce Eley experienced a nightmare that no dad or husband would ever want to endure. Last week, his wife and daughter were murdered by a man who then turned the gun on himself. There isn’t anything we can say that will make it any better. We live in a cursed, fallen world where horrible disgusting things happen. All we can do is lift Bruce up in our prayers and ask the LORD to sustain him through this time of grief. Please remember Bruce in your quiet times and prayers. He is a great man and both he and his wife were all about encouraging others and motivating them to reach their health and fitness goals. Cherish every day you have with those you love. And as I reached out to Bruce, he shared the following with me and I want to pass it on to any of you who want to be a blessing to him and his family during this time =
“Thanks Coach Wayne it has been an awful time for me and my two grandchildren. If you could get the following word out I would greatly appreciate it. Believe me I am not one to ask for help but me and my family have been completely over whelmed by this tragedy.

Thanks in advanced teamRIPPED for supporting our fellow team members, both in success and in tragedy.
And 2 favors that I ask:
1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them. Click the share links below them and share them on FB, twitter, etc. It really helps me get more exposure and grow teamRIPPED!
2) Also, as always, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site, www.teamRIPPED.com, or by logging in to www.teambeachbody.com to do your shopping (If you buy from the plain beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Keep bringing it and inspiring others to do the same gang!!
Thanks Coach. I greatly appreciate your understanding and once again, I truly am very sorry. By the way, I am very sorry Bruce for the terrible tragedy which occurred. I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. <3
Dear Coach Wayne, I am very very sorry for asking such stupid question, as I was just very nervous. This is truly my real name, and I just changed my name each time because I didn't want my personal details leaked out. And for the Henry/James part, I made up the name Henry when asking the question, and I told my parents of what happened in the workshop(I am in the Robotics Club at my school). My dad was really scared and eager to ask someone who knows his stuff, so he told me to ask you, and once again I am very sorry for all of the confusion I've caused and for all your time wasted.
Hey Coach and team! Today is day 21 since my broken clavicle and I saw my orthopedic this week. He wants me to continue to rest my right shoulder for another 3 weeks and we will take it from there. He is very happy with how quickly it is stabilizing and so am I. I have in the past 3 weeks, since the injury, maintained my weight at 156 and tracked my nutrition. *That was extremely important especially since I was not working out! Last night I placed plyo in my dvd player and I woke up this morning nice and early. Since I cannot do weights, pull ups, nor push up (no plank positions) just yet, I decided plyo was the way to go. While keeping my hand on my stomach and elbow at my side for stability during exercises, I was able to get through the entire dvd! Happy to say I burned 912 calories this morning and I feel great, a sense of accomplishment! I plan to continue to do the plyo until I get cleared by my orthopedic to begin light weights and possibly pull ups & push ups. I feel like I am back in the game for now and cannot wait to be able to complete the final 2 weeks of phase 1. Anyways, just a quick update on where I am. Bring it!!!
BTW everyone reading this comment thread, "James" and "Henry" are the SAME PERSON!! Same IP address, same computer, same place. I should have known better when this whole topic came up, but I just assume people are serious when they ask questions. This same person ("James" / "Henry") has also been "Andrew" / "Scott" / "Evan" / "Jimmy" / "Bernard" and has asked some other weird questions on other threads (I love having the ability to look up IP Addresses LOL!). He's a 14 year old kid in Phoenix AZ. There are some real weirdos out there. I could just delete all of his posts but I'd rather leave them up so all of you can see what an interesting schiztophrenic individual we have amongst us. LOL! Plus I find it pretty darn entertaining LOL! Have a great day James / Henry :-).
@James .. SHUT UP!! I have now understood that one single exposure can't possibly do anything ! Stop throwing this BS everywhere
@ Indo... are you sure about Henry being safe because my dad is a doctor and I asked him about his exposure and he says he could've been at risk
Hey James, what does you dad think the level of "risk" is for one single exposure to burned PVC?? This whole topic is really getting ridiculous! We are ALL exposed to carcinogens EVERY DAY for goodness sake. In our food, in our environment, in the air we breathe. Why don't we all just give up and get fat and lazy since we may have breathed in something dangerous one time??? LOL!
As a husband and father, I cannot bear the thought of losing my wife and child to this type of horrific event. It is with a heavy heart that I express my condolences and pray for our Lord to continue to give you strength, comfort, hope, and peace during this very challenging and difficult time. God bless you and your family. Love you brother.
@ Henry One small exposure isn't gonna cause any problems at all. Period. Kepp Bringing It! @Indians Fan You have tendonitis---go to Amazon and search "Thera-Bar". I got these and the elbow tendonitis is GONE!
Thanks Doc Indo! Appreciate the expert advice for the peeps! (yes Henry and Indians Fan, Indo really is a physician so believe what he says!!!)
Hay Coach I have been having major pain in my left elbow mostly when I curl I have been trying to bulk up so I have been going heavy but it seem lately even when I do not go heavy my arm still hurts. Do you have any suggestions? I have been think I should take a few weeks off or may be just waiting until P90X2 comes out to really give the elbow a rest.
Hey Indians Fan, you probably have some tendonitis in the elbow, which is common. I get it in my left elbow from time to time. You definitely don't need to take 2 months off! LOL! The best thing to do is to modify only the 2 or 3 exercises that bother it most, and focus on doing heavy weights for low reps. Doing lots of reps is what flares up tendonitis. When I notice mine, I focus on doing fewer reps but doing them very slow (on pushups and pullups) with a weighted vest so that the muscles burn out by rep 6-7 on the pullups and rep 12-14 on the pushups (do them almost like the slow motion pushups for every rep). That way the joint doesn't have to work as hard but the muscles still get lots of resistance and burn.
To Henry, Google is your friend. From the top result at http://www.idph.state.il.us/envhealth/factsheets/dioxin.htm: "Studies of people exposed to high levels of dioxins through occupation, accidents or military service do not suggest that adverse health affects will occur at low levels in the environment. A large historical study suggested workers exposed to dioxins for many years had increased cancer rates. However, other environmental factors may be related to the cancer." I think you likely have more important things to worry about.
Thanks Coach! I think I was just on a phase which really needed to end. I doubt anything happened and even if it did, I can't change what's in the past. Thanks Wayne. You truly are a lifesaver! :)
You're in my prayers, Bruce!! I am so sorry to everything that happened. No one would be able to know what you are experiencing unless they have gone through that first hand. I will be praying for you!
Wow Coach!! Though those words might've been agressive, you frankly got me back up on my feet again!! Thanks! I can already feel the blood pumping around my body LOL :) ... Just one question... do you really think one time exposure won't harm my testosterone levels?
I'm no expert Henry, but I highly doubt it! I'm sure I've been exposed to all kinds of crap that reduces testosterone levels but I don't focus on what I can't change. I just press on. Let's do it bro!
Hi Coach Wayne!! I hope this ins't creepy but I saw you like U of A and I live in Phoenix Arizona, and I was just wondering, where do you live?
Hey Coach, Recently, I was in my workshop and I accidentally burned some PVC pipe. A very horrible odor was produced, so I looked it up on google, and it said that a chemical called dioxin is produced. The symptoms of this chemical are cancer and also a loss in testosterone and lean muscle mass. Therefore, I am now very depressed as I feel that working out won't benefit me at all. Please help me Coach as I am truly deep down in the dumps and haven't worked out for over 2 and a half weeks. If there is anyone else who knows about dioxin, please help me.
