I have admired the Bowflex Selecttech Dumbbells from afar for many months, but since they are so expensive, I went with a more affordable set of adjustable dumbbells by LifeSmart. They have been just fine, and I’ve really loved being able to adjust on the fly to keep up with Tony and the crew!

Well, I couldn’t resist, and even though there is nothing wrong with my LifeSmart dumbbells, I went ahead and ordered a set of Selecttech 552’s. I didn’t go with the 1090’s because there are very few P90X lifts that I need more than 55 lbs. for, and the 90 lb. set would be cumbersome to move around.
As for my ordering experience = The promotional code wouldn’t work on line, so I called their customer service number and on the phone they got it squared away for me.
My total out the door, delivered and tax included, was $260. That’s a great deal for the best adjustable dumbbells on the market. I just want to pass this info along to you because I know that many of you are on the lookout for affordable dumbbell sets, and while not the cheapest, these are the best and this sale puts them in the same price range as the cheaper models.
**One big drawback though — My Selecttechs, which I ordered today, will be arriving in FIVE WEEKS!! Apparently everyone else is taking advantage of this sale as well, and they are severely backordered! That’s okay with me, as I’m a P90X Life-er, so I’ll get them just in time for Round 4!!
**UPDATE** I just got an automated call from Bowflex today saying the dumbbells will be shipping next week via FedEx!! Oh yeah!!!!
