Beachbody Performance Supplements

Beachbody Performance Supplements are finally here! This was part of the big news from lasts week’s Coach Summit. Beachbody has been working hard to create and release a full line of supplements to help allows you to perform at your best. This article will give you an overview of the performance line and some of my initial thoughts. I am giving the full stack a trail run, so I will save my real opinions until I have used the Beachbody Performance Supplements for more than a couple days.

Beachbody Performance Supplements

There are 5 supplements in Beachbody’s Performance Line:

• Energize – A pre workout to increase energy, improve endurance, and sharpen your focus. It’s a lemon flavor and pretty good if you like tart stuff.
• Hydrate – A intra-workout to help support hydration and replace all the electrolytes we lose during workouts. Very light citrus flavor. Very refreshing!
• Recover – Power workout nutrition! Protein packed recovery formula that start muscle protein synthesis, fight against DOMs, and improve recovery.
• Recharge – Nighttime protein and muscle fuel. Supports overnight muscle recovery with a casein based protein. Helps reduce muscle breakdown as you sleep.
• Creatine – Creatine… yep creatine! Most researched, safest, proven muscle and strength aid.

Coach Wayne’s Initial Take on the Beachbody Performance Supplements

I am always a little skeptical of change LOL I like what I am doing with supplements, that is why I am doing it! I’ve always loved using my R&R and E&E so it will be weird switching, but the science behind the performance line is current (vs. 5 years old). For me, it is going to come down to their effectiveness once I really use them.

What I really LOVE about them right out of the gate is that they are SAFE! The new Beachbody Performance Supplements are all NSF approved. So these are free of all banned substances. They are safe for all athletes, at all levels. That is really good peace of mind. Also, there are no fillers, artificial colors, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, or preservatives. For artificial flavors and sweeteners I tend to fall in the camp of moderation. I have never seen any reputable research to prove that they are as bad as some people make them out to be, but they have not been around long enough for me to fully say they are safe at any dose. So I want just to limit them where I can. And supplements are typically a big place you will pick up artificial flavors, colors, and sweeteners. The Performance Line will be an easy way for me to eliminate some!

I really like that the Recover has more protein. I always felt that was lacking from R&R (I made up for it with my own protein thought) and that R&R might be best suited for cardio if you took it on its own. I still LOVE R&R, so it is going to be tough to change and not get my orangey goodness LOL

The Energize was good the first time I tried it from my sample pack. A few of my buddies and fellow teamRIPPED coaches really like it! And these guys are pretty big PWO users. Everything I am hearing is that it is a good step up from E&E. But as with the other supplements, time and use will tell! I don’t want to get ahead of myself.

As you can see, prices might seem a little higher than before, but when you compare cost and servings sizes, they come in right around the current BB supplements. You always pay a premium for high quality supplements. When you start comparing to what you normally use, make sure to check if it is apples to apples. The level of quality you get from Beachbody won’t be beaten.

Coach Wayne’s Initial Recommendations on the Beachbody Performance Supplements

It all comes down to your budget. If you have the money and want to try these for yourself, go for it! Beachbody is giving FREE shipping on the Performance Line through August, so that is a great deal right there. I already mentioned the 100% refund promise, so you are really covered.

I would probably start with Energize as I have heard the more positive feedback on it. If you didn’t like E&E, give this one a go and let me know! I want tons of insight from all of teamRIPPED so we can give everyone the best advice. Next I would look into the SAMPLER PACK. That is a really easy way to try them all and at least get a sense of their flavor. Just like Shakeology, it makes a lot of sense to see if you like the taste first.

What you can also see from the chart is that if you have Beachbody On Demand and a CLUB account, you get a good break. The deal is even better if you have a coach account!

Finally, if you are unsure, just wait! I will give you my full run down and opinions when I finish a full month of the Performance Line. I am always upfront and honest with you guys and gals!
