Hey teamRIPPED!
How has your week been with the workouts and nutrition? Are you feeling less motivated now that summer is fading into the sunset and you know that Fall gives you a chance to hide under thicker, baggier clothing? Nip that thinking in the bud right now! Don’t head down that path!!!!
I know more people than I can count who approach their health and fitness from the perspective of letting themselves go through fall and winter, and then trying to make up for it during spring and summer. I’m telling you, that’s a miserable way to live, not to mention a slippery slope. If you want to shift your focus, I’m all for that. But don’t just let it go.
One fun way to shift things up during fall and winter is to focus more on strength and muscle building (without being as worried about cutting body fat). But still eat right and track your nutrition. Then, in the spring, you can spice it up by shifting to a cardio/cutting emphasis and really reveal the muscle you built over the winter. If you are burned out a bit from spending a long time on a fat shredder approach to your fitness, try that this fall and winter and see how you do.
Remember people. This isn’t a sprint. It’s a lifestyle change. Setting short goals is critical … like “how ripped can I get in 90 days?”. That’s wonderful. It forces us to push ourselves to the max. But it isn’t over at Day 90 … or at least it shouldn’t be. That should be the launching point for a new trajectory of life. It is hard to get on the right path, but once you are on it, STAY ON IT!! Keep living each day with purpose. Take care of yourself. Take care of others. Make it count gang!
I also want to take a minute to remind everyone the BEST and WORST ways to get in touch with me. The BEST (in order) are:
#1 — This website. I check it nearly every hour, if not every few minutes, all day long. I always prioritize answering questions here first before answering any others.
#2 — Email. After being sure my website comments and questions are updated, I then check emails. I always try to respond within 24 hours. But I try to “unplug” from emails in the evening for family time.
#3 — Facebook. Like email, I try to unplug in the evenings, but I check it pretty regularly (at least once or twice per day if not more). But I always get the website and emails caught up first before answering messages on Facebook. I check into my FB groups a lot, but I don’t prioritize the FB message inbox.
#4 — Youtube. Usually these are random people, not part of our team, so I don’t prioritize them as much. I do try to update my YouTube comments once a day, but I can’t do it on my iPhone and sometimes I go a couple days between updating the comments and questions on my videos.
#5 — Teambeachbody Inbox. This is the WORST way to contact me. I can’t check it from my phone, it’s pathetically slow to load, and I hate checking my Inbox. Don’t send me a message there if you want an answer quickly!!! I usually check it every few days, but I figure if people contact me there, it’s only because they aren’t plugged into our website and Facebook groups, so they get bumped down the list of priority!
I hope that helps you when choosing how to contact me, and it makes me feel better to keep you alerted how to best reach me because I really do pride myself on responding as quickly and thoroughly as I possibly can to each and every one of you who reach out to me.
