Hey teamRIPPED!!
The summer is coming to an end. School is about to start (or it already has for some). Football season is about to kick off. I just had a Fantasy Football draft last night and stayed up too late! I did, however, land a few good players. Now I’ll just have to keep my fingers crossed that they don’t get hurt! Ah, the joys of FF. Anyways, it’s all a sign that fall is just around the corner.
While I love summer, I also welcome the changing seasons because, as Tony Horton says, variety is the spice of life. After a few months of hot days (especially those muggy mornings working out in my garage which does NOT have A/C), the cooler, crisp autumn air sounds refreshing!
But I also know that a lot of people have a tendency to slack off on their fitness at the end of the summer, so I’m issuing a CHALLENGE to all of you. DON’T SLACK OFF!! Just because it’s easier to hide an out-of-shape body in sweats during the fall and winter, that doesn’t mean you need to give up the progress you’ve made. Imagine if, instead of taking 2 steps forward every spring/summer and 2 steps back every fall/winter, you made the commitment to keep moving forward all year long. You’d find yourself in AWESOME shape next spring, rather than having to panic to get back in shape before next summer.
You know your tendencies. If the fall/winter slacking is something you fall victim to, I dare you to plug in with the teamR1PP3D ’13 Challenge and keep Bringing It! There are over 1,500 others in the group right now, and the peer pressure will give you the incentive, motivation, and accountability to keep the pedal to the metal.
One thing I’ve learned over and over again in life is the simple lesson of CONSISTENCY. It applies to fitness, nutrition, finances, relationships, work, school …. EVERYTHING!! The Law of Consistency is simply this = small, smart choices made DAILY, which don’t seem to have much effect, compounded over time will lead to HUGE payoffs.
Do you struggle with consistency? Most people do — because it’s not fun or exciting. But it’s what separates the successful from the unsuccessful.
Consistency wins the day. Are you committed to stick with it?
