Hey teamRIPPED!  Wow, what a week it’s been for me.  As I told y’all last week, I have been at Family Camp this whole week.  It’s been so refreshing.  Time away with the wife, kids, and friends is awesome!

So, can you guess how many P90X conversations I had this week?  If you guessed more than I can count, you are right.  I may be turning 40 this year, but when I’m by the pool or at the lake, people see me without a shirt and can’t help but start asking questions.  I’m in better shape than all the 20-somethings LOL!

The staff made several comments of how impressed they were with my how ripped I was, and of course the questions started flowing.  How did I do it?  What had I been doing?  etc. etc. Most people assume I’m some sort of body builder or MMA fighter or pro athlete.  They are usually surprised when they find out I am simply a busy dad who gets up 1 hour early every morning to workout in my garage.  Is it really that simple?  YES!!!  P90X.  Body Beast.  A team to support me like teamRIPPED nation Anything is possible!

Here’s a pic of my and my friend David Jeffries after a workout in the Camp Gym (striking a Jeff Lennon Superman pose LOL) =

Anyways, it’s just further reminder that when we commit to the program, we are a walking, talking, advertisement.  People WANT to be in shape.  They WANT to be healthy.  They just don’t know where to start and how to follow through.  When they see us, real life people (not paid actors!) who have done it, they will flock to us to learn how!  It’s encouraging to me to share with others and help motivate them to go for it.

There’s nothing special about me.  The reason I get all this attention is that I committed to P90X and the nutrition 100% and never looked back.  It takes hard work and discipline, but anyone can do it.  YOU CAN DO IT!  So don’t make excuses … don’t leave regrets … Bring it!

I also learned some awesome lessons that I want to share with you that will hopefully motivate and inspire you on your own fitness journey.  They are Biblical principles that apply not only to our spiritual well being, but also to our physical and emotional well being.

1) Learning is not just about INFORMATION.  It’s about TRANSFORMATION! We are not called to be conformed to this world, but to be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of our mind (note = it doesn’t say INFORMED, but TRANSFORMED).  Let the things you are learning CHANGE your behavior!  When we read God’s Word, it’s not so that we can quote more Bible verses — it’s so that the Word can transform us to be more like Him.  Similarly, you can google stuff all day long about carbs, glycemic index, diet pop, organic foods, and supplements, but unless you actually let what you are learning TRANSFORM the way you eat, it makes no difference! Similarly, you can watch every P90X DVD in the case, you can memorize the sequence of the excercises, and you can study the philosophy behind muscle confusion, but unless you get off the couch and actually DO the workouts, it makes no difference!  All too often, we are great at LEARNING, but the things we learn don’t affect a TRANSFORMATION in us.  What a waste of time!  Remember, be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind, both spiritually and physically!

2)  Spiritual discipline and physical discipline have a lot in common! It takes consistent time in God’s Word and prayer to achieve spiritual growth and maturity.  Similarly, it takes consistent commitment to the workouts and nutrition to achieve your desired results with P90X, Insanity, Body Beast, etc.  And as soon as we let that discipline slip (either spiritually or physically), we will start to move back towards where we started.  I may looked ripped right now, but if I start eating junk food again and skipping workouts, what will I look like 90 days from now?  Probably like my Day 1 pics!  Yikes!  I may know and meditate on God’s Word a lot right now, but if I decide not to make time for God, how will my “spiritual muscles” look 90 days from now?  Scrawny, I bet!  Discipline is something we must build into our lives if we want to be all that God wants us to be, both spiritually and physically.

It’s not a 90 Day race gang!  It’s for LIFE!

I can’t wait to get back home and keep living to make a difference in the lives of my family, my friends, and teamRIPPED nation! You probably also know that I’ve had some issues with commenting and replying on Livefyre.  Their technical crew has been great. It turns out that I think the issue was the wifi here at camp and their security/firewall. I was finally able to fire up a wifi hotspot I brought….. and the problems were GONE! If you posted a comment earlier in the week and never got a reply, I’m sorry. I tried to catch up yesterday but please post again if you still haven’t heard back. I will be all over it now.

Bring it!!

And 2 favors that I ask:

1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them.  Click the share links below them and share them on FB, twitter, etc.  It really helps me get more exposure and grow teamRIPPED!

2) Also, as always, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site, www.teamRIPPED.com, or by logging in to www.teambeachbody.com to do your shopping (If you buy from the plain beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!

Keep bringing it and inspiring others to do the same gang!!
