Toxic. What a word! It makes me think of something that brings death, destruction, and damage. It’s not a good word!
Do you put “toxic” things in your body? Candy. Pop. Cigarettes. Drugs. These things bring damage to our body, and we should think of them as toxic! They may not kill us in very small quantities, but who in America can do things in moderation? We are the super-sized culture of the world. And we even take in our toxic materials in super-sized quantities.
Do you know “toxic” people? The ones that always seem to be in a bad mood and want to be sure that they dump toxic waste on those around them. I know them! Guess what will happen if you constantly hang around those toxic people? Damage! Destruction!
Are you toxic? Do you ooze passion, hope, and optimism? Or do you ooze hopelessness, anger, and frustration? Chances are that if you are Bringing It, you aren’t toxic. Toxic people don’t do P90X. They don’t do Insanity. Instead they try to discourage others from doing it! Get away from toxic people! Love them, yes, but keep your distance because they are dangerous to you!
Do you have toxic people speaking negativity into your life? Remember this = You are not what others say you are! You ARE what God says you are! And God says in His Word that He has plans to bless and prosper you! God says that He has given you EVERYTHING you need for life and godliness. Let that sink in!
And also consider this advice: Anytime you think something good, SAY IT! Bring life, healing, and inspiration into the lives of others! There is no better antidote for toxicity than words of life and truth!
