Over the years on teamRIPPED I have heard almost every excuse in the book. Basically everyone knows by now that excuses don’t mean much to me. So in most cases, people have stopped giving me blatant excuses LOL and I’m okay with that! But I still get online see so many excuses in my challenge groups. Enough is enough!

Sure there are things you can’t control. But that is a tiny bit of what happens in your life. You have so much power to control what happens each and every day. This is a down and dirty post to get your mind right!

Doing What It Takes

Doing what it takes means dropping the excuses. It means deciding what you really want out of the next 90 days, one year, or even your life. It means realizing that that will take some tough decisions and complete commitment. Do you want it?

Doing what it takes means getting up before the rest of your family does to ensure that you have enough time to get your workout done. Doing what it takes means being honest with yourself knowing that if you wait until after work, you won’t have time. Doing what it takes means turning off the TV and going to bed early so you have the energy to get up when the alarm rings. Doing what it takes means pushing through the soreness and pain to get better.

Doing what it takes means putting in the time to plan your meals. It means getting out your kitchen scale and measuring cups to make sure you have the proper portions for each meal. Doing what it takes means being okay with getting a little grief for passing on dessert or eating differently than the rest of the office. It means eating things that might not be your first choice but you know they are the best choice!

Doing what it takes means staying positive when things don’t go your way. Having a long view of the journey. Encouraging those around you that they can do it too. It’s knowing that you did your absolute best today, and tomorrow you get the awesome opportunity to do it again.
