Rich told me his results aren’t as dramatic as some, but I beg to differ.  Rich is over 40, headed in the wrong direction with his health, and then all of a sudden makes a huge decision to change.  That takes guts, determination, and commitment.  He did a great job, and I think you will all agree.  Congrats Rich, and I know these first 90 days are just the beginning of a new you!

Rich’s Story in his own Words:

Lazy, fat, and out of shape is no way to go through life.  Yet that’s exactly how I was going through life.  At 42 yrs old, I looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize the person staring back at me.  I knew I was gaining weight, but I didn’t realize just how much I had gained.  Even when my doctor told me I would probably have to take cholesterol medication because my cholesterol was so high it didn’t sink in.  It wasn’t until I saw a few pictures of myself that I said, “Who the heck is that fatty?!?”  I was so ashamed.

I think the downfall started after I got married and we started to have kids.  I have 3 incredible kids, but apparently the pregnancies had more of an effect on me than they did on my wife.  Whenever she had a craving for a milkshake, apparently I did too… and apparently my cravings were bigger than hers as not only would I drink my milkshake, but I would end up finishing hers as well.  Also I would initiate her cravings by asking if she wanted a milkshake when she really didn’t, but I did.  Pathetic, I know.

When we got married I had a 32 inch waist.  Seven years later my waist size had jumped up to 37 inches… and growing.  My eating habits were out of control.  I was never a good eater to begin with, but it just got way out of hand.  It got to the point that I was embarrassed to take my shirt off in front of my own wife.  How sad is that?

That’s when I really decided to give P90X a shot.  I had bought the program about a year earlier, but just threw it in my closet and never did anything with it.  So after I dusted it off and actually opened the box, I threw the first disc in the DVD player and pushed play.  Wow!  I was really out of shape.  Push-ups and pull-ups are definitely not my strong suit, but I kept showing up and pushing play.  And you know what?  I started to improve with them… and actually started looking forward to doing them every morning.

Now, my 90 day results aren’t quite as dramatic as a lot of other people out there, but they are very dramatic for me.  I started out with absolutely no muscle tone whatsoever, and after 90 days, some muscle definition is actually starting to peak through.  Who knew?  I have more confidence now and I’m not embarrassed to take my shirt off in front of my wife anymore… and she seems to like the new me as well ;)

Thank you to BeachBody and TeamRIPPED!  The motivation and support from everybody here is just remarkable!  Without all of the support here, I would still be going through life lazy, fat and out of shape, as opposed to where I am now… energetic, fit and full of life!

Thanks,
Rich
