Okay, okay. I’ve left y’all in suspense about my P90X2 results long enough. Here it is! My P90X2 Results video!!!
But first, let me just say something that’s just as important to me as P90X2 results — even more so, actually. We all focus on getting fit, getting ripped, and getting healthy. Those are all noble goals. I obviously care quite a bit about them myself :-). And I’m in the very best shape I’ve ever been in my entire life at this very moment (video evidence of my P90X2 results below LOL).
However, these bodies will eventually wear out. Being ripped is temporary. Life is SHORT. Be sure that you are investing your time and energy into things that leave a legacy … things that last forever. Make an impact in the world around you. Let your light shine. Let others see the hope that lies in you. We have all been blessed in many ways. In all things, first pause and give thanks to your Maker. Then be a good steward of His favor by being a blessing to others. I hope that in all the “Get fit / Get RIPPED” talk we have on here, that you see those traits in me, because that’s a legacy that will last far beyond anything else I do.
God bless!
And now, for everyone who wondered if the PHASE approach (Foundation, Strength, Performance) and the science behind P90X2 would really help a person build muscle, get stronger, and shred like never before, I think that the X2 Crew P90x2 results you have witnessed over the past couple weeks have put that question to rest. I heard from many during the foundation phase that were going to bail on X2 because it wasn’t working like they hoped. They weren’t feeling “The Pump”. I’m sure I’ll be hearing from all of them again shortly as they realize they should have trusted the plan LOL!
And I think my P90X2 results will speak for themselves! I have been doing P90X, Insanity, Asylum, 1-on-1′s, and hybrids for over 2 years now. I thought that I had achieved the maximum results I could imagine. I was wrong! I have never been as fit, ripped, or muscular as I am right now, after a round of P90X2. I am weighing 225 lbs, with less than 6% body fat! CRAZY!! The last time I had sub-6% body fat was in late 2010 after I had just finished a P90X / Insanity hybrid — but along with that sub 6% body fat I was weighing 208. Now I’m every bit as ripped, but 17 pounds heavier, with great upper body muscle development.
Thanks P90X2 for taking me to levels I didn’t know were possible in my own strength and fitness, with P90X2 results I could have never imagined!
Okay, I’m sure y’all are tired of reading and just want to watch my P90X2 results video, so here it is!!!!
What do you think? Does X2 blow the roof off your fitness? It has exceeded all my fitness expectations, which is why I’m going to do another round! I’ve still got room for improvement on MANY of those moves! The challenge rages on!! The P90X2 results aren’t over yet!
Keep bringing it!!!

coachjavyperez I ran a slight surplus with around 40-50% carbs initially and then upped my protein and worked down to a slight deficit to lean out for the final photos.
Hey Coach, I am around 12% body fat and have completed a round of P90x and am giving p90x2 a shot. What do you recommend as far as phases to time. How long do you recommend each phase for myself? Thanks!
Kevin - You need to know your weaknesses. If you core is weak, the Foundation phase will expose it. Spend 3-4 in foundation if you are feeling good, or up to 6 weeks. Strength is great! If you havethe deluxe DVDs, spending 6 weeks in the Strength phase would allow for some real growth. The Performance Phase is demanding, no more than 4 weeks. 3 weeks might be good. Put in a recovery week where you need it. Most likely you will be calling for one after Strength! Here are my calenders: http://teamripped.com/download-items
Hey Coach Wayne.. I'm really trying to lose weight and complete the p90x workout plan but im having a hard time with a diet plan..what do u recommend..im really motivated with ur video..i wanna have that same effort and motivation..
Hey Juan, start in the "nutrition tips/Sample diets" tab and you will learn exactly what I recommend! Let me know if you have any specific questions as you read through my tips.
Hello Nice results. I've been following your site for a while. I have completed P90X a couple of times & might try P90X2. But what I would really like to see is the difference between when you started P90X2 and when you finished. It would be nice to see what someone could resonably expect from doing P90X2. Although the photos shown are nice, the before was from 2 years ago, not just before P90X2. Just a thought. Thanks!
You are in luck Bill cuz I have progress pics all the way from Day 1 to now. I post them on this site every time I complete a round. If you want to see what I looked like in January before starting X2, you'll find those pics in the "vegan conclusions" article since I had just finished 90 days eating a vegan diet and doing P90X Classic. Hope that helps! Also, just as a side note, what someone can reasonably expect to accomplish with X2 depends on their starting condition. For someone like me who was already in very good shape, my 90 day progress won't be as drastic as someone with a lot of "work" left to be done. Although I think my 90 day progress was still pretty great.
Khaled, Every human on this earth has the potential to make errors as this man made with you. You have one friend in Jesus, who has promised that he will never leave you nor forsake you...Ever...Trust in him, and follow him. Everything else will fall into place. You will be amazed. There is much more peace in deserving ones respect rather than demanding it.
I read what you wrote carefully. I will try and am trying my best. You are almost as old as my father btw, so I really respect your advice and will not forget it. If it means anything to you, you are one of the very few people who caused good change in my life (whether it's big or small). I only looked up to ppl like I look up to you twice in my life, once to my father who I still look up to, and once to a coach like yourself who I trusted like a father for 2 years and he turned out to be a scam, lying, deceiving man (he wasted 2 years of my life) who was after our money and other things. So I did get a small share of the back blows you get from life. Just felt like sharing man :). Thanks again.
Also, something that is very important to me is the music I listen to while working out. It would mean the world to me if you tell me what music you listen to while working out so I download it. (These aren't excuses, I am already working out !!)
Hey Khaled, I listen to the DVD's when I workout. But if you want to listen to music rather than the DVD's, it's up to your taste. I like Christian rap like Lecrae, Tedashii, 116 Clique, and Christian Rock like Skillet and Pillar (the same music you hear on my youtube videos). As for how to inspire others .... The first thing is you have to have something bigger than yourself that you are living for. For me, that's my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If I am focused on Him, and what matters to Him, then I have purpose and a vision. Life is short and eternity is forever. God made each of us very special, and no one is more important than another. I'm not a role model. I'm not any better than anyone else. Don't idolize me. What you should be drawn to about me isn't that I'm ripped and you want to listen to the same music as me and have a poster of me .... you should be attracted to the fact that you see Christ in me by the way I live with purpose and to spread the good news of His salvation to those around me.
Hey Coach, how do I make an impact on the world around me. I am asking you this question as a friend more than as a student to his coach.
Coach, What diet did you follow. Are you still eating mostly vegan? Your results were great and I'm curious where you stand now on the protein/vegan divide....
Hey Pete, I've been doing a basic "flexitarian" diet for the past several months now, since completing the 90 days as a vegan. I eat lean meats, whole foods, at about a 50% carb / 35% protein / 15% fat ratio. If you'd like to see everything I've eaten for the past several months, come join us on myfitnesspal. You'll find it very valuable to see not only what I eat, but what others are eating as well, and you'll be able to dial in your own nutrition and keep yourself accountable. Read all about myfitnesspal here = http://teamripped.com/my-fitness-pal
Again, I couldn't be prouder of my Coach :D. You lead by example, not my words sir. I tagged you in a short video on the "x me baby" group on facebook, can you check it :) ?
Ok thanks coach... I know I sound like a broken record here, but do you think that this mass building program won't interfere with sports performance and cardio threshold?
If you do Body beast forever, then yes Brian, your other areas of athletic performance will drop. But if you are interested in gaining some mass, a 60-90 day stint of the Beast, followed by mixing things up with another program again, is the way to go.
Coach.. what do you think of an X1/X2 hyrbid? Also, because I am a cardio freak, do you think that if I purhcase Body Beast when it is available and implement a hybrid with Insanity with it, would I still get mass results, or would the extra cardio just hinder my success?
Hey Brian, you can definitely do an X1 / X2 hybrid. The workouts are very interchangeable since they are built on the same concept (especially the strength workouts). When Body Beast comes out, you'd be best off to do it as scheduled to build mass.
Wayne, you beast! I just got around to watching your X2 results video. Awesome video. I am proud to call you my coach. Let me know when you start the next X2 Challenge group. I want to be a part of that!
Sorry, btw you are a beast(in a good way lol) and a really good person taking the time out to not only motivate people, but being an outstanding leader. Thank You!!!
Just wondering if you are going to post anymore p90x tranfomation vids? It is my secound rd of p90x and it really helps keep going. I would love to try p90x2, but i have a torn mcl in both legs plus torn acl in my right leg. I think it would be to hard for me. Looks like alot of fun. I have 3 and half weeks and i will have completed round 2 of p90x. then i might try insanity hopefully I can complete that as well.
Hey Ray, absolutely! I post Hall of Fame success stories from our own teamRIPPED members about once a week, and will continue to do so. I've taken a couple weeks to highlight the X2 Crew's results since we all just finished, but then I will be back to the usual routine.
Coach Wayne, You're pretty ripped LOL! Awesome results and a great video to display your strength and improvement. You can probably do 100 4-ball pushups, right? Haha... Anyway, I am now on round 2 phase 2 (strength) of P90x2... i've bumped up my calories to 2000-2200 (i know, not enough) and yet i am still losing weight. This is a good problem to have - but, I probably know my answer to gain muscle: "eat more, eat clean, bring it". Worse case scenario - I'll stay slim for the summer and look to bulk up in the fall/winter... ok enough about my plans... THANKS AGAIN COACH! is it possible you can be coach of the year back to back years? LOL...
thanks coach,i had success with fat shredder,,, so your recomendation for me, im about 11ish bf, and want to get to 7-8 ish, should i now change to bout 2800/3000 calories at 40 40 20 or stay about 2k calories at 50 30 20 im doiing a hybrid of x and x2 now im 6 1 188 as of yesterday thx
Hey Mike, if you are still 4% away from your goal, I'd stay on the fat shredder until you are within 2% of your goal.
Hey coach First off awsome resultat, i did not think you could get any more muscular then you were before. Secondly, can a postworkout meal/snack be about 400-450 cal, I have upped my calories to a endurance maximaizer diet and having trouble to get my calories in to six meals. i am eating 3 meals of 600 cal and want to split the remaining calories into three snacks of 400 cal each. thanks
Hey Coach, I wanna congratulate you on your so wow results. I am really impress and just wanna say Good Work Buddy! You really did bring it! On another note, i just have a few questions about MFP that i wanted to ask you, how did you add AM snack, workout and pm snack to your categories?? Secondly did you came out with a 236 g of protein need??? I completed my profil and it says i need rouglhy 100g of protein per day. I'm not really familiar with MFP but completed my profil and I can't seem any option that i can tweek to change those settings. I use the PC website MFP, the option that you use are they only for the mobile?
Hey Dom, in the custom settings you can change the meals and % that you want (I have details of how in the "myfitnesspal" article so check that out). Don't just go with the default numbers that are pre-loaded on MFP. They aren't what we want for our goals.
great results coach, you are an inspiraton. little confused by one thing your calorie maintenance is 3000 you stayed at 3000 calories and cut body fat. i was under impression you need to be on deficit to cut bf.... i was on 1900 fat shredder, and upped to 2100 cals, just for more energy, i want to get like 7 - 8 % bf im at like 11 what u think, some insight please. im at 6 1, 190lbs now....
No Mike, not at all. You have to be on a calorie deficit to lose weight. You can be on a maintenance diet and stay the same weight but slowly change body composition as you build muscle and lose fat. Look at my Day 90-180 progression -- same thing happened there as I stayed the same weight but went from 8% to 6% body fat. The thing is, the change is SLOW, and people with a long way to go on losing body fat need to run a deficit to get the fat off fast. Just look at me -- I lost about 2% body fat in an entire 90 days. That's perfect for what I wanted to achieve while building muscle, but for someone at 15% body fat, they wouldn't want to go a whole 90 days and only drop to 13% body fat. That's why they need to be on a deficit until they are very close to their goal. In fact, you'll see that if you look at the "dialing it in" article I wrote about when to be on what phase of the diet. I say to go to the maintenance diet when you are within 2% of your body fat goal, because at that point you will be able to lose the last bit while also building muscle.
Wayne, I have been following you for couple of years now and this is the first time I write to you. I am so impressed with your results and dedication to let your light shine. I have had P90X since 2008 without real success. I just started yesterday with a real dedication this time and I am following your 1900 cal diet. Can I be your friend on MFP? I tried to look you up and there was only one "Wayne" but I wasn't sure it was you. God's blessings on you and hopefully I can stick to the plan this time!
Coach I had one more question, I have been following your food log for some time now. And I am so glad you do that, it helps keep me motivated. I noticed you eat a lot of tuna and I was just curious about what your take is on Tuna and the mercury issue. -Thank you, Benjamen
I've studied all sides of it and am in the camp with those who say that tuna 4-5 times per week won't hurt a bit. I eat different meals on the weekends but at the moment I'm doing tuna as my lunch. I switch it up from time to time and go to chicken for a while.
Hey Coach W, I'm currently doing an P90x/Insanity Hybrid following your fat shredder advice for women. Im about a week away from my 30 day mark. I'm feeling stronger, havent lost that much weight but I would rather look at the postives then the negatives. But any way I plan on tackling P90x2 when I complete my hybrid. I was intrested in the deluxe package. What equipment did you find necessary and what items can you modify with? For instance: weighted bar, plyo box, and pushup bar
Hey Jay, that's a tough question. You can do the whole program with nothing but bands. Or you can use every piece of equipment available. The things I think are definitely worth having are med balls (at least 2), a stability ball, pullup bar, bands, and dumbbells. I don't think a weighted bar or plyo box is as necessary. Since most pushups use the balls, Powerstands aren't as critical with X2 as they are with X.
Blessings Coach! Great results and I appreciate your message. Did you use Creatine Monohydrate this round? Also how often did you use your pre-workout? -In Christ -Benjamen
Hey Benjamin, I did not do mono this round. I did kre-alkalyn. And I did E&E about once or twice a week, but I don't use a PWO nearly as regularly as I used to.
Wayne, simply fantastic results. You inspire me on a daily basis to work hard. Thanks for sharing like you do.
Awesome awesome video Coach, just when I was thinking you couldnt be any more inspirational I see this. Incredible results. @Dallas, Up until 5 weeks ago I was doing the same. Nutrition "most" of the time and picking and choosing workouts as I felt until Coach Wayne set me straight. Now that last couple % bodyfat I was struggling with before is finally going, slowly but surely. Decide. Commit. Succeed.
Hey coach awesome results! I was just wondering how many medicine balls I should buy and of how much weight before I start X2? On another note I know it's a bit off topic but I just read about the "P90x certification" to teach p90x classes in a gym and was wondering if you had any extra info on it that you could share? I was wondering if you would end up as a certified personal trainer after you complete the course or what the official title would be and if not if the course alone would be enough to work at a gym. Thanks for the help coach!
Hey Tony, I have 4, but you can get by with just 2 and use basketballs or soccer balls for the few moves that require 3 or 4 (which isn't very many). The kit comes with 8 pounders, but I like my 10 and 12 pounders most of the time. The P90X certification process is open to Beachbody coaches. If you are a coach, you can learn all about it in the teambeachbody coach back office. It is like Crossfit certification, where once you complete the course work (an online portion and a live portion) you can open a P90X gym and hold classes, just like Crossfit certified instructors do. It's a great new direction they are offering with certification.
Hey Coach Wayne just wanted to say thanks for all the advice and information and I have just a quick question. My nutrition is spot on I would say 80% of the time but the other 20% of the time.....my discipline lacks. Is their a group that would give me a "kick in the butt" so to speak when my motivation lacks? Being a former marine I find I respond best when confronted where I lack. Thanks again!
Coach Wayne, what nutrition plan did you follow while doing P90X2?
