I think people sometimes overlook P90X2. Yes there is a lot of “gear” with all the med ball, stability balls, plyo boxes, etc… but it is a killer program!  He absolutely destroyed P90X2 with our X2 Crew, and his pics tell the story.  Check out what 90 days of the Deuce did for Mims!  Even though he had been working out with all sorts of programs for years, it wasn’t until he got the whole package with P90X2, an accountability crew, and a locked down nutrition plan to really get him the results he had been chasing.

Mims’ Story =

My story is very similar to many stories of those who have completed P90X, P90X2, and other Beachbody programs. However, as many similarities as there are, there are an equal number of differences. Like so many others, I was a competitive athlete my entire life. I played football, baseball, soccer, basketball, and ran track as a child. I was even fortunate enough to play college baseball at Louisiana Tech University as a scholarship athlete. Of course, in those days, I could eat and drink anything I wanted and never miss a beat. However, again like so many others, those days did not last. After graduation from college (and the end of my days as a competitive athlete), I was accepted to physical therapy school in New Orleans. Obviously, I became much more sedentary attending class from 8:00 to 5:00 on a typical day and studying for the remainder of the day and night. It was at this time, I began to gain weight. I would try to combat the weight gain with vigorous bouts of “chronic cardio” on the elliptical and treadmill, but as we all know, you cannot outwork poor nutrition. And here is the first difference in my story. Unlike many, I never stopped working out. I would work out 1.5 to 2 hours at a time. I performed CrossFit Workouts, SealFit Workouts, and yes, Beachbody programs (including insanity and P90X). Looking back on it now, I think I was overtraining. 1.5 hour resistance sessions in the morning. Then “chronic cardio” (45 min to an hour at a time) in the evening after work. This was my typical routine 5-6 days per week. However, I payed very little to nutrition and thus made no progress. I was, at best, maintaining my current fitness level. I knew something had to change. I then heard about the upcoming release of P90X2. Having been a graduate of P90X and having experienced success with it in the past, I knew this was my chance. I pounced on the opportunity. When performing research on this new program, I found teamripped. Through Coach Wayne’s very informative website I  began to learn everything I could about nutrition. I knew this is where I needed to change. I learned what to eat, when to eat it, how much to eat, and maybe, most importantly, what not to eat. I learned how to taylor my nutrition plan to my specific goal. I learned how to become lean or how to gain mass. I learned what worked for me and how to fit that into my schedule (as we are all busy and have multiple obligations). Upon receiving P90X2, I put my plan into action and, as they say, “the rest is history”. 90 days later, I am a new man. I have more energy. I look better. I feel better. I am more confident. And, I am now equipped with the knowledge to help others achieve their goals as well.
