The ladies are back with another Hall of Fame transformation! Who says teamRIPPED is only a place for the fellas? Lauren did an awesome job with Insanity and Chalean Extreme, and I’m so excited to see the change she’s made. Way to represent teamRIPPED to a nation of young moms looking for a way to get their confidence back in the way they look and feel! You did AWESOME!!! Check out her results gang, and let her know what you think!

Lauren’s Story in her own words:

While I have always incorporated fitness into my life, it isn’t until recently that I am able to really see what it means to me and what it can do for me. Chasing after three children and keeping our complicated family schedule running smoothly can be pretty taxing. I find that as life gets more complicated, the time I carve out for my workouts is an important outlet for me.

I have been a loyal Beachbody customer starting back in 2003 when I saw a Power 90 infomercial and ordered it for myself. I lived in a TINY (maybe 350 square feet) studio apartment in Manhattan. The apartment was so small that in order to get dressed in the morning I had to put my Murphy bed back into the wall. Even though I had been a member of a popular fitness club, I was really getting tired of the “show,” not to mention the steep fees. Power 90 looked perfect for me, I could do it in my apartment despite the tiny space I had. It was a very manageable length of time and there was no transportation time getting to the gym and no additional cost. It was easy, too– no complicated moves – you would understand this statement if you saw me trying to manage a Step Class or the moves in The Firm.®

I wish I had pictures from when I was doing Power 90, while I wasn’t 100% faithful to the program, I do remember getting down to my lowest weight since college and from that point on it made me a believer in Beachbody products. Since then, I have used Power Half Hour, Slim Series, P90X, ChaLEAN Extreme, Insanity, and Brazil Butt Lift; all of the programs have been great, and while I do have my favorites, I have been enjoying picking and choosing from them all to make up my own hybrids.

My current transformation has been quite different from that of my husband’s and I consider myself still on the journey. My son, Liam, was born in July of 2010 – and as a woman in her thirties, the whole time I was pregnant, I was petrified that this time I wouldn’t be able to lose it. I don’t think that I looked horrible post-baby but I certainly wasn’t happy with myself – and that reflected in my mood (just ask Jeff). None of my clothes fit right, pictures of me made me cringe and quite frankly, were demotivating. Another aspect of my journey that is a challenge was that if you asked my friends, none of them would say that I was overweight, in fact many will tell you I am crazy for dieting (which you and I know really means eating right). Hearing words like that makes it hard and awkward to keep going and also makes it so easy to justify a cheat meal, a cheat day, or a cheat weekend.

That said, I am excited to share my struggles and successes on my path to losing the baby weight and to overall wellness. I hope in the process I can help and inspire you to get to where you want to be – whether you are at the beginning of your journey or well down the path.

The Transformation

Here are my before and after pictures…you have no idea how difficult it is for me to post these before shots (well maybe you do!) The before pictures are about 6 months out from having my son, Liam. I nursed him for that long and really struggled with my diet (not wanting to eat too little) and the amount of exercise that was ok. Needless to say, I was very excited to embark on my current wellness goals, hence the half-marathon I am registered for and incorporating Kickboxing into my life. I am very proud of what I have been able to acheive in a short 90 days! I feel so much better about myself and know I look great! Seeing tangible progress is beyond rewarding. I can’t wait to see what Asylum will bring and beyond.
