Jay hit me up early on, telling me he was bringing it hard.  He sent me Day 30 pics that really impressed me.  He threw out a wager that if he kept bringing it that hard for all 90 days, would I wear a Nebraska shirt in one of my videos.  Well, here we are at Day 90 and I owe Jay some Husker love in my next video!  Well deserved man!

Watch Jay’s video and then read his story below!  Those man boobs are ancient history bro!!

Jay’s Story in his own words:

My story is I put on A LOT of weight over the past 2 years.  To say I had it rough would be an understatement.  I got divorced, lost my job and obtained full custody of my 2 year old son.  I was a police officer for 4 years and I was married. Throughout the last two years of my marriage I come to find out my wife was a closet alcoholic.  I tried for 2 years to help but as everyone knows a person cannot get better until they want to or are willing to.  The kicker for me was while I was still married my wife got pulled over for a DUI by my partner of all people.  Well the chief thought it would be best not being on the force anymore being that I had a family member in the headlines of the news.  Getting my son in full custody was a great thing, but how would I support him with no job? I took my stress out on alcohol and fast food. Pizza Hut stuffed crust is NOT the way to deal with stress.  So in the last year I have re-enrolled in school and set to graduate in 2013 in physical therapy. So now how can I improve my self image? With p90x!

I decided that excuses were just lame and tired. I’m a fulltime student, work when im not in class and raising my 2 year old son. When can I exercise? When can I enjoy my time with friends? Will this take away time from my son? Every excuse was there in my head.  I then said its only an hour per day. I can dvr judge judy and watch it later. No excuses equal no reason to failure. And you know what….I just got done with my first round of p90x and to be honest it went by so fast!  The reason I decided to make my change was simple.  On January 1st like everyone else the main goal was to make a change in their life for the better.  And like everyone else I pigged out on Thanksgiving and Christmas and even New Years Eve. I came across the p90x infomercial one night and thought to myself at first this is a joke.  Then I kept on watching and seeing the results people were getting and thought why not me?  Now to be honest I bought the program and was going to tweak it around so I could use it in the gym.  Lets be honest doing dumbbell presses sound much more better then push-ups and lat pull down much better then pullups.  I then went to sign up membership at a local gym and wow was it going to be expensive.  So feeling down about not being able to afford a gym membership I waited a couple days before even opening the p90x package I bought.  What made me open it?  I again saw the infomercial and was inspired.  I then at that time which was January 10th, 2011 decided I was going to do the program as it was intended.

I went and bought some cheap dumbbells that go from 5-25 lbs, a pullup bar and some push up stands. The first 30 days were tough but I was feeling better on the outside and the inside as well. With this program I decided to go all the way. I cut out fast food, alcohol and the late night 4th meal as some would call.  All the sudden I was seeing muscle develop and my love handles were beginning to go away. That right there is a natural high I haven’t felt in a long time.

I then came across Wayne’s video and went to his website and was in aw! I seen how there were hall of famers that accomplished what I was doing. I then knew I wanted to be on that wall.  I contacted Wayne and requested him as my coach and it was the best decision I could have made at the time.  Wayne helped me adjust my diet, gave me workout tips and the results then really began to come.  Day 45 is the day I could really tell my body was changing. I downloaded on my blackberry apps “fat secret” and everyday I track my diet. This is a must! I wanted to get around 1900 calories per day and once I hit that number I was done. I made sure at dinner every night I ate a lean protein and a green veggie of some sort. As they say “if you wanna get lean go green”.

Day 60 came around and by now a lot of my family and friends were seeing the results asking how much weight I was losing. From day 1 to day 60 I lost a grand total of 7 lbs, but I was tightening up all over.  And weight loss was not a big concern for me as was fat loss. On day 60 I shelled out some money and bought some adjustable dumbbells that go from 5-52 lbs. Best investment of my life!!!  I went from doing high reps for the first 60 days to doing low reps the final 30 days. Muscle really began showing up on me then:) Day 75 I decided that I wanted to cut my calories from 1900 to 1700 to try to cut some more fat. It worked! My weight went from 196 to 188 in the final 15 days and body fat dropped as well.

My final results were 212 lbs to 188 lbs and body fat 23% to 12%. This program has not only gave me the self confidence and self image improvement I was looking for, but it also gave me a plan that is strict has structure and discipline that I needed to follow.  If you follow that plan and mentally commit to doing this you will succeed. Thank you Wayne and team ripped members for bringing back the old, confident and happy me. Now you know my story it’s back to business. Round 2….Bring it!!!
