It’s that time of year… CHRISTMAS is almost here! A wonderful time to spread some cheer and joy through giving gifts. If you’ve been bitten by the fitness bug, putting some workout items on your list is a good call! That is if you’ve been good ;-)
Fitness Christmas Presents!
Now, I am not affiliated with any of these companies besides Beachbody. Any of the links to Amazon, etc are not some secret scheme LOL These are just some awesome gift ideas that you could use or maybe even get for a friend or family member that likes to workout! I tried to keep all of these reasonable too… no $5,000 full set of dumbbells from 5#-150# LOL!
Wrist Wraps ($15-25 typically)
If you have wrist issues, hopefully you already use these. A wrist wrap wraps your wrist (who’d a thought that!) and keeps it supported and inline. They also prevent some hyperextension. As you lift heavier or do more reps of push ups, these can really keep your wrists safe. I would check out Rogue Fitness for their velcro wraps as a first option. 12-18″ is good and they have many colors to pick from. If you want really stiff ones, I have some Gansta Wraps from Slingshot and they are like putting your wrists in casts! Great for benching big (but more expensive at ~$45).Lifting Gloves ($15-$50 or more)
You can definitely keep these on the cheaper end or go all out. As I have mentioned in the past about lifting gloves, if you can go to a sporting goods store and try some on, do it! That way you will get the best fit. In the past I have really liked ones with built in wrist wraps. That would eliminate my first gift idea, but you get the best of both worlds in one! Harbinger makes some great lifting gloves too. Other good brands are Nike and Meister.
Foam Roller (~$30)
A foam roller, or even better yet a Rumble Roller, is an awesome tool for mobility and recovery! You use foam rollers for self-myofascial release (like a self massage). They definitely help reduce soreness and help you recover more fully. If you have done P90X2, you know how awesome these! Beachbody sells both the standard foam roller and the Rumble Roller. If you need a small size for travel, check out Amazon.com.
Lacrosse Ball ($ super cheap!)
Another mobility tool. Used a lot like a foam roller, rolling out trigger point and tight spots on a lacrosse ball can work wonders! Their density really digs in and can release some tight spots quickly. Any sporting goods store will have them cheap too!
Supplements! (Big range)
This can be a pretty easy one for people too. Do you have a favorite pre workout? If it’s Energize, just copy the link here and send it to Santa. Like something from Bodybuilding.com? Find the flavor and copy that link! Just be specific so your wife, husband, mom, or dad don’t go into GNC without a plan LOL Same thing for whey or even Beachbody’s Recover.Oh and don’t forget about your favorite protein bars! These can be a good thing from someone to just pick up a few or even get you a whole box. I think they are easy to overlook since so many of us like to use them a lot.
Beachbody On Demand ($38 every 3 months)
Now if you are getting this for someone, you could just get them a nice card and instructions to sign up. They will need to have their own account, but what you are doing is giving them access to thousands of dollars worth of programs! P90X, X2, X3, Insanity, The Asylum, ChaLean, and more! What a sweet gift.If you are asking for this as a gift, you could send your loved one your TBB log in info or just tell about it and ask for them to cover the first 3 months cost (actually 4 months, you get 1 free!). Kinda lame to ask for $$$ but Beachbody On Demand is worth it!
Hopefully this gave you some last minute ideas! Picking fitness items for Christmas is a great way to get some neat accessory items and keep your momentum and progress rocking!
