Is it getting a little cooler where you are? Are you pulling on more hoodies and warm clothes? It’s that time of the year… Don’t be a victim of the FALL STALL!
It seems like every year we have the same thing happen. People are super fired up to get ready for summer. It makes sense. You will often be wearing less clothes as it’s hot out and you want to make sure you feel comfortable in them and that you look good. Makes total sense! Summer comes and goes… and then it changes. It’s Fall! Cooler weather, baggier clothing, lots of holidays and laziness!
Knowing the Signs of the Fall Stall
What are some of the signs of the Fall Stall? Well to start, most people get really busy at the start of school. Schedules often change and you might even miss a few workouts. That makes you feel a little down, and a missed workout here or there becomes a few a week, until you are completely out of the routine! Also, with it being cooler out, you start covering up more. Looser clothes easily cover little gains in BF and weight. And that seems ok. You still look good! But those slow gains start adding up… if you let that go for a month or two, you very well could be right back where you started!Finally, one of the BIG signs of the Fall Stall I think is the holidays. If you have lost your focus, get ready to really set yourself back. Football (a holiday to some LOL), Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Food overflows at these events! Not only that, but pressure from family and friends is at it’s highest. I mean, you wouldn’t want to upset your mom by not eating her famous pies?!?! Big blow outs from holidays and get-togethers leave you feeling more sluggish and less dedicated than ever before. The Fall Stall is in FULL EFFECT!
How to keep REVVED up to avoid the Fall Stall
1.) Only YOU can prevent Fall Stall – First and foremost, it comes down to you. I can’t do it for you. Your buddy can’t do it for you. Your husband or wife can’t even do it for you! You have to have it in your mind that you will stick to your plan no matter what! What is your word to yourself worth? What is your character like? Having character and integrity (to yourself) is what it boils down to. So if you said, “I’m doing 90 days of P90X and I am sticking to my nutrition plan…” what other option is there? Are you are quitter? Do you need to check out the excuse zone?
2.) Plan Ahead! – If you know that certain get-togethers or holidays are going to be a struggle, PLAN AHEAD! Get your food logged and prepped, and make sure you hit your marks. Plan in a little wiggle room if you want a still fit a TINY slice of mom’s pie LOL But don’t go off the deep end. A bad day of eating can easily set you back 2-3 days of good tracking. You ruin the running average and more importantly start to set a mindset that cheating is OK. Don’t do it! Impluse decisions have us pick what tempts us now. That always works against your ultimate goals! Check this out if you need help with food cravings.
3.) Get Accountable! – Ok, so this is where other people can come in. Rule #1 still is in play but other people can be a big help to avoiding the Fall Stall. Are you in a teamRIPPED Challenge Group? If no… WHY NOT!!! You need like minded people around you, cheering you on. That is why I started teamRIPPED! To keep myself accountable and then have a place to keep others accountable. The power of a challenge group is HUGE! Don’t miss out.
Post there every day that you got your workout done. Make some friends and ask them to call you out if they don’t see you posting. But get the TEAM behind you!

Go into the New Year with needing a Resolution
That is what avoiding the Fall Stall is really about. You want to make progress this Fall. Don’t come to January 1st and have to make the same, old tired resolution that everyone else is making. On January 1 you will have momentum on your side! You will riding the wave of Big MO!!! Let’s just DO IT!
