There’s an epidemic going around… a “BUT” epidemic! According to researchers, 9 out of 10 people are directly impacted by the “BUT” epidemic. Are you or someone you know struggling with the “BUT” epidemic? Read this article to find out if a swift kick in the butt from Coach Wayne can help you reverse this crippling problem!

*Disclaimer = Patients have reported experiencing weight loss, strength gains, and rippedness from using teamRIPPED.

Okay so maybe those stats are made up. Seriously though, there is a huge “BUT” epidemic going around. What does it look like?

  • I want to eat better BUT… I don’t like to cook or eat vegetables.
  • I want to workout every day BUT… by the time I finish my day I’m tired and it’s late.
  • I want to lose weight BUT… Tracking what I eat is too hard and it takes too much time.
  • I want to get stronger BUT… I’m still sore from the last workout.  I think my body needs to rest.
  • I want to stick to my nutrition plan BUT… It’s my birthday next week, and then I have my sister’s fifth-anniversary party, and then there’s a going away party for Jenny at work, and then Easter will be with my family, Memorial Day is out, and then it will be Labor Day weekend, after that Halloween is just around the corner, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years….

Can you see we have a problem of epidemic proportions?!?!

Every single one of those is nothing but an excuse. And you should know that I hate excuses. If you want to succeed in your transformation and controlling your health you have to be willing to get rid of those BUTs.

Change those BUTs to ANDs

A great way to get rid of those excuses is to change those BUTs to ANDs.

What does this look like? =

I want to eat better AND… I’ll work on liking to cook and eating vegetables.

I want to workout every day AND… I’ll start waking up 1 hour earlier to prioritize it at the start of every day, before things get hectic and unpredictable.

I want to lose weight AND… I’ll get better at tracking my food even if it seems hard at the start.

I want to get stronger AND… I’ll get my workouts done even if I’m sore. I’m committed.

I want to stick to my nutrition plan AND… Even when it’s my birthday next week, or my sister’s fifth anniversary party, or there’s a going away party for Jenny at work, or Easter at your parents’ or when it will be Labor Day weekend, even when Halloween is just around the corner, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years…. I’ll control what I eat and be ok saying NO if a food choice doesn’t help me to my goals.

You control the way you respond in any situation. Are you so committed towards your goals that you can go hang out with family and friends and not be pressured into compromising those goals? Are you so committed that you’ll remain positive and work at those things that might not come easily at first (tracking, cooking, eating veggies, etc)? Are you so committed that even when you miss your alarm in the morning you know, without a doubt, that you will get that workout in later in the day?

The choice is YOURS and YOURS alone.  It’s a battle of the MIND!

If you choose to live with your BUTs

If you decide to live with your BUTs, be realistic about how that will affect your results.

If you’re not going to track, you probably will have little progress visually and that progress will be very unpredictable.

If you are going to skip workouts, you’re not going to get stronger as quickly, get as strong as you could, or maintain a consistent calorie burn creating a consistent deficit.

If you’re going to let every family outing, party, holiday interrupt your nutrition plan, expect to take two steps forward and one step back. There will always be something trying to take your focus off of your goals. You don’t have to become a hermit and avoid these situations. Learn to be confident in what you’re doing. Your immediate desires (or cravings) can not overpower your ultimate goals! Eating cake and ice cream is not a requirement to have fun at a party LOL Truly enjoy the people in your life!

Seriously count the costs: are you willing to pay the price of allowing your BUTs to control your results? Aren’t your ultimate goals more valuable than your immediate desires?
