Hey teamRIPPED!

How is everyone this week?  It’s one of my favorite times of year.  Fall — the weather cools down, it feels amazing outside (great for hiking, bike rides, playing with the kids, etc.), and of course football season!  Did y’all see my Arizona Wildcats play the top 10 ranked OSU Cowboys?  …. yeah, unfortunately I saw it too.  Ouch!  Okay, let’s move on …..

Fall is one of those times when lots of people put their health and fitness on cruise control (actually more like reverse!) since they don’t have to wear summer clothes anymore.  It’s a vicious cycle every year between “dieting” to get ready for summer, then letting it all go in the fall and winter.  Each time a person does this cycle, they lose muscle during the diet phase, and replace it with fat in the “let it go” phase.  That’s why over time they end up in worse and worse health.

Don’t go down that path!  While others are slacking, this is when we take charge and steamroll ahead.  Remember, we want to be ready to shock the world in January with our P90X2 challenge, and the slackers will get left at the train station when this freight train comes through!  Be on board!

I’m going to take a 2 week break from my current Round 5 hybrid to do a short Asylum-only stint in preparation for my upcoming Warrior Dash in Tulsa.  I want to be able to knock it out and feel super doing it.  I’ve never been a “runner” type of person (I’ve always despised it actually), but thanks to these great home workouts like Insanity and Asylum, I have actually been able to get in great running shape without ever having to run.  I know a couple of you guys in my area will be there, so I’ll be on the lookout!  When I get a mile or 2 into it, I’ll have to shut down that little voice that says “what are you doing man, you are 215 lbs” and replace it with “you are nimble and quick, like David Jeffries.  You are David Jeffries!” (for those of you who don’t remember David, he’s one of our Asylum Legends who knocked out a 5:21 mile after doing Asylum — that’s SMOKING!!!).

I’m not looking to set any records, as I’ll be doing this alongside my wife.  But don’t get me wrong, she is in super shape after 2 rounds of Chalean Extreme and some Insanity, so I can’t loaf along :-).   I can’t wait to get out there and have a blast!

Oh, and would you like to see some motivation from one of our own teamRIPPED members who may be over 50 years old but realized that age is just a number and nothing could stop him from getting ripped (and winning a nice little bet with a buddy!).  Check out John L:

John went from 268 lbs at the age of 50 to 206 lbs at the age of 51  (that’s -62 lbs people!).  How many 30 year olds would LOVE to look like this 51 year old!  Way to crush it John!

Read what John has to say about the past year:

It started as a bet with a Board member — “how much do you weigh?” — Why? … and he said — ‘because I need to loss 30 pounds and you’re a competitive guy — I’ll make you a bet!”

He bet me that I couldn’t loose 40 pounds and if I did …. $10K was mine.  If I didn’t — I would have to fly him and his wife from Birmingham, AL to Boston where I live – and take them fishing for stripped bass and blue fish … on my dime.

Weigh in was at the July 28th Board meeting (136) days away.

I started the next day on P90X and signed up to have you as my Coach.  As a member of Team Ripped — I pushed “PLAY” every day — and “Bring it” became my new mantra.  I ate clean and followed your proven diet / and nutritional advice to the letter.

Results came fast!!  I used resistant bands exclusively — because I travel every week for business as the Vice President of Sales for a software company; and I wanted to make sure I could do the program no matter where I was on any given day.  Let me tell you — “B” bands are awesome!!!

Now 136 days later and 62 pounds lighter — I am in the best shape of my life — thanks to you and Team Ripped.

It’s no longer P90X …it’s as you said — P90 LIFE!!!

There’s a lot more — but I just wanted o say — ‘thanks!”

Go Team Ripped!!

Thanks John for the inspiration!  You ROCK!

And 2 favors that I ask:

1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them.  Click the share links below them and share them on FB, twitter, etc.  It really helps me get more exposure and grow teamRIPPED!

2) Also, as always, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site, www.teamRIPPED.com, or by logging in to www.teambeachbody.com to do your shopping (If you buy from the plain beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!

Keep bringing it and inspiring others to do the same gang!!
