How is everyone doing?? I hope you are tearing it up and staying focused on your goals. It’s easy to make goals. It’s a whole different ball game to actually make the sacrifices necessary to achieve those goals.
Speaking of people who have big goals, did you know that Olympian Apolo Anton Ohno has been using P90X2 as part of his Olympic Speed Skating training? Elite athletes know this is the real deal. I think it’s really cool that the very same workouts we can do in our living room are the workouts that the world’s best athletes choose for their own fitness and training. In this pic, Apolo is showing Beachbody’s CEO Carl Diakeler a little about proper technique with speed skating LOL.
In other news, Body Beast is getting closer! The official release date should be announced soon, and the target date is late summer. For those of you who haven’t seen the recent supplement list that will accompany Body Beast, here’s a video =
Most of us are already very familiar with whey protein and creatine monohydrate. I’m curious to see what the Fuel Shot is like (I already really like Results / Recovery formula and don’t see myself switching but I’ll try it and let you know). And I don’t know a lot about how effective the Suma will be but I’ll evaluate it and let you know. The release date is getting closer, so all you guys looking to build some mass are in for a treat.
In the “Don’t Try This At Home” category, those of you who follow me on MFP may have noticed that I have a whole slew of veggies in my daily nutrition plan, which are divided into the am snack, lunch, and pm snack. What exactly is that?? Well, I’ve been reading and studying a lot about juicing and blending, so I’m giving this a try. I’m not going on a juice fast or anything, but I am experimenting on myself with a home-made veggie juice coctail. I mix a whole bunch of whole veggies in my Vitamix, into a big blender full of what I call “Hulk Juice” LOL. It’s dark green, smells (and tastes) like I’m licking a lawn mower blade, and it takes me all day to get it down LOL! That’s why you see it divided equally among my daytime eating sessions. But it packs some serious nutrients so I’m giving this a run and want to see how I feel with it.
Basically, I put all the following into my Vitamix and just blend — a whole bushel of Kale, 4 stalks of celery, a whole cucumber, a whole green pepper (seeds and all), a whole tomato, baby spinach (appx 2 1/2 cups), brocolli (appx 130g), ginger root (a 1″ chunk), turmeric (1 tsp), a naval orange (peeled), and 3 scoops of plant protein powder (I’m using Sun Warrior’s brown rice protein). I then put in enough water that it can blend and let it fly. It’s gross, and it’s the best appetite suppressant I have ever tried!!!
This little experiment with my Hulk Juice makes me even more amazed that BB has made Shakeology taste good. My Hulk juice is only a few ingredients, and they are the more tame, easy to get ingredients. Shakeology has some much stronger, more potent, and more harsh tasting ingredients. And yet they’ve figured out how to put them together in the right percentages to make it actually palatable. That’s a miracle LOL! And Shakeology is $4 a serving to boot. It costs me about $8 in ingredients to make the Hulk Juice.
Anyways, for those who want to try the Hulk Juice, you’ve been warned! I’m going to keep doing it for at least a few months because I want to evaluate the benefits of liquifying my veggies in order to get more into my diet than I otherwise would. Before the Hulk juice, I would only take some baby spinach, some carrots, and an apple for my daily fruit and veggies. Now I’m getting the whole produce section!!
