Hey teamRIPPED! Look out, your fearless leader is getting old! LOL! This weekend was my birthday, and I am now 38! In just 2 years I can be the old “ripped at age 40” guy LOL! Who says getting old is a drag? I have guys half my age saying they wished they looked like me, so I must be doing something right! And I’m going to keep doing what works — pushing play every day, eating to fuel my body for health, and using supplements that will keep me running at 100%. It’s no secret that this formula works wonders. It’s just a matter of committing to doing it!
I have more AWESOME NEWS about the Beachbody Challenge! If you remember a couple weeks ago, I told you how our very own Tim Dixon was a Beachbody Challenge winner in August. Well, we’ve done it again! Fred Lee was announced a winner for the 40+ age group this month! teamRIPPED continues to dominate! And these guys have each scored $1,000 bucks for their hard work, in addition to the great health and ripped bodies they’ve attained. If you didn’t read my article last week about being part of the Beachbody Challenge, definitely do so!
By the way, have you noticed that it’s here! Thanksgiving week! I have so much to be thankful for, and I know you do as well. I will dedicate an article to that tomorrow.
But today I want to remind you that there are 2 things that can happen between now and New Years — you can be like the average American and gain 10 lbs of fat. Pig out, be lazy, and feel miserable. That’s option 1. I spent YEARS choosing option 1. While the food tasted good going down, it was no way to “enjoy the holidays”. I felt like crap. Option 1 sucks!
Option 2 — BRING IT! I chose Option 2 last Thanksgiving and Christmas. And guess what? It was AWESOME! I didn’t gain 10 lbs. I stayed ripped. And I didn’t have to go lock myself in a closet to avoid all the temptations either. I had a great time visiting with friends and family, enjoying the reason for the season, and felt great doing it. I simply made a PLAN! Start your PLAN now! When we get caught off-guard, that’s when we can get in trouble. When we make a plan, we know what to do and how to come out of any situation with success.
Start going over the menu options you’ll be faced with at Thanksgiving. Plan on what you will eat. Are you on a fat shredder diet? Get a big plate of sliced turkey and green beans. No worries! Everyone thinks that it’s impossible to eat healthy at big holiday meals. That’s nonsense. Just because you have to avoid some of the items doesn’t mean you “can’t eat healthy”. No excuses! Do what you need to do to go with Option 2! Option 1 gets no love at teamRIPPED!
Also, be sure you have some emergency rations! If you are traveling and find yourself at a meal that literally has ZERO healthy options, you don’t want to be forced to either “give in or starve”. Have a stash of rations in your suitcase or your glove box of your car. Heck, I ALWAYS keep a stash in my glovebox. I’ve had to suck it up and say no at some meals before and then hit my emergency rations when I get to the car. I was glad I had my safe foods nearby or I’d have been in a pickle. Good items for an emergency ration stash are nuts, jerky, cereal, protein bars, seeds, and fruits that can last a few days like apples.
Just remember the old saying, “failing to plan is planning to fail”. Put in the effort to get a plan in place and you will SUCCEED! Ring in 2012 with no regrets or holiday flab!
I will be on the road for the next few days visiting relatives for Thanksgiving. I’ll still be posting articles, so check in often.
