I wanted to post an update (or lack there of) on the global expansion of Beachbody and the associated TeamBeachbody / Coaching opportunity.
Did you guys realize that there are people all around the world doing P90X? Of course you knew that, right! P90X, Insanity, Asylum, and Turbo Fire are a global phenomenon!
But did you also know that teambeachbody is only open to US residents (and a couple specific provinces in Canada) at this time? And to have a coach you have to set up a teambeachbody account. It’s free, it’s easy, and it’s something we in the states take for granted.
But I get emails and comments almost daily from fellow P90X-ers around the world who would love to join teamRIPPED and be part of what we are doing as a team. I also get frequent emails from internationals wanting to become coaches in their area and help others. Unfortunately neither of those opportunities are available yet.
What I always tell these people is that the way things stand right now, they can be an “unofficial” member of teamripped; but unfortunately, since teambeachbody is only open in the US right now, there is no way to actually set up their own teambeachbody account with me as their coach. And there is no way to become an official Beachbody Coach if you live outside the U.S. …. YET!

However, just because I can’t be their official teambeachbody coach, I don’t discriminate!!! If you are an international P90X or Insanity user who is reading this, I hope you hear this:
Make full use of the resources here at teamRIPPED, just as if I were your coach. I will definitely let everyone know as soon as the overseas registrations for teambeachbody open up (that’s a huge point of emphasis at Beachbody in 2011 and 2012). Believe me, there are lots of overseas teamRIPPED “unofficial” members, just waiting for the chance to sign up and become coaches, etc. I can’t wait! Beachbody knows this will be HUGE for their market share, and that their business will see an unprecedented expansion when they get the international channels opened up. I know it too!! :-). But working with governmental agencies for customs approval on the Beachbody supplements and integration of the coaching network into foreign economies requires much collaboration and effort. Beachbody is doing everything they can, but it still looks like it will be well into 2012 before TeamBeachbody and the coaching opportunity are live in other countries. The first openings will be Canada and Mexico, with others following shortly behind. I’m compiling an email list that I will send out as soon as Beachbody launches internationally, so if you are in Canada or Mexico and want to be on my email list, just send me an email at coachwayne@teamripped.com and I’ll add you.
And if you are curious about ordering items, since you don’t have a teambeachbody account, you can’t order through my website or Beachbody’s website. But if you call the 1-800 number for Beachbody and ask for the “international department”, they can help you know if certain products can ship to you (a lot of that depends on the customs restrictions of your particular area, which I don’t know).
Like I said, one of the main focuses of Beachbody in 2011 and 2012 is to get more access globally to teambeachbody, to the coaching benefits, and to actually allow international coaches to sign up to help others around the world. That will be really exciting, because if you think P90X and Beachbody products are a hit now, just wait until the global floodgates are opened!
And as for the question of why it’s taking so long, most of it has to do with 2 issues — the ingredient list in Shakeology (which has to be approved, ingredient by ingredient, by the foreign country), and the coaching opportunity (which is difficult to incorporate on an international level due to corporation regulations that must be carefully met in all areas that Beachbody wants to expand the coaching opportunity).
I can’t wait to break the news that BB coaching and teambeachbody has opened up in other countries. It’s just a matter of time. And I will let all of you know as soon as it happens!
In the meantime, teamRIPPED is already international!!! You may not have a teambeachbody account saying I am your coach, but you are welcome here! ….. If you are ready to BRING IT!!!!
