Travis is a young guy (21), but after a car accident, and the resulting immobility, he started to pack on A LOT of weight. When he got diagnosed with high blood pressure, he decided enough was enough. He dusted off the P90X that he knew worked (his brother had done it), and gave it his all. He then moved on to a P90X / Insanity hybrid. To date, Travis has lost 80 pounds!!! Yeah, you heard that right — EIGHTY!! You are crushing it bro! Congrats!
Travis’s Story =
My name is Travis, I’m a 21 year old college student who has become obsessed with fitness! I have been 220lbs or heavier since 2007 when I broke my hip in a car accident, I was 184 pounds the day of the accident. 3 months of not being able to walk and just drink pop I gained almost 40lbs. I was a Shot Putter / Discus thrower in high school, so at the time I thought the added weight might help my throws (it didn’t). I was always conscious of my weight but didn’t know how to change. I never liked a picture taken of me because of my weight. After high school my weight slowly began to increase to when it hit 250lbs.
Before P90X I was overweight, drank 40 ounces of soda pop a day on average and had very low self esteem. I was uncomfortable in my own skin, hiding behind my curly hair to hide my round face. I was constantly adjusting my shirt, because of my stomach, when I sat down. Now I am incredibly happy with my results with P90X, I feel good about my appearance and about my overall health.
I started P90X in about the second week of January of 2011 after I had a doctor’s appointment; the nurse told me my height 6’2 1/2, my weight 250, and “oh you have high blood pressure. Is that normal?” Obviously it wasn’t I came home embarrassed looking for an answer and I remembered my brother uses P90X and how people have had complete body transformations from it! It had been in the house for years but I never bothered to try it out. With high blood pressure of 162/106, it scared me straight. I began working out every day with P90X and I ate properly cutting out sodas and anything sweet and lost 45lbs in the first 90 days! When I started the second round I also started to do Insanity 2 days a week. In the second round of P90X and Insanity I had lost an additional 35lbs! I have lost a total of 80lbs and gained huge amount of confidence. My blood pressure has come down to normal levels and my current weight is 170lbs! Not only has my health improved but so has my school work, last semester I was on the dean’s list ( I had the confidence in me to do well), and I had the confidence in myself to get a new job as well as becoming a Beachbody coach. I am in the best shape I have ever been in thanks to P90X and Insanity and for the help of Coach Wayne! I am continuing my fitness journey with P90X2!
