Todd was one of the early members of the teamRIPPED nation, back in 2010. He went all-in, and got some awesome results. He’s since gone on to become an amazingly successful coach of his own team (Ripped Club). I find it fitting, since teamRIPPED is going head to head with Ripped Club in our X3 Battle of the Ripped right now, to pay homage to Todd’s original journey and results.
The old Todd was always “husky” (LOL!) and embarrassed of his physique. He got P90X but let it collect dust for a few years. He finally decided to make use of the tools he had at hand and dive in. It transformed him! He’s been motivated by his faith and a desire to take good care of the life the Lord has blessed him with. Congrats Todd! You are a great example of what it means to live with purpose! However, I must still attempt to crush you in our battle ;-)
Todd’s Story in his own words:
I have always been what I call Husky…We all know what that means. Over the years I have watched success story after success story, but just assumed that I didn’t have the type of body that could achieve the “after photo” results that we see on TV. I knew what it would take to get there, but never had the motivation. Sure I would get frustrated and diet for a month and hit the elliptical for 30 minutes a day, but I never changed my lifestyle. I would always end up back where I started after seeing the smallest drop in weight, thinking “now the hard work is over”. WRONG!!! Now I have also always been very self-conscience about people seeing me without a shirt on; the pool, lake, frisbee at the park. A cutoff t-shirt was good for me. Don’t even ask if I would be on skins in basketball. I was sick of being embarrassed of my body.
Finally I decided to purchase the P90X series about 4 years ago. Apparently you have to PUSH PLAY to get results though. After the same old health/weight roller coaster for the last 4 years, I got fed up. I will admit it openly that after 5 months of P90X, i got some great results, but not the results I wanted. I was doing about 60%-70% of the workouts and my nutrition was not a #1 priority. Well, in week 6 of Round 2 with 100% dedication to PUSHING PLAY EVERYDAY, the abs are cutting through and the veins are comin out. I can’t wait for the next workout and the next healthy clean meal!!
One of the main reasons for my desire to change was my faith in Christ. We are to be good stewards of what He has given us, including our bodies. That was very convicting for me. Through Beachbody, the P90X program/nutrition guide, and the beachbody supplements, I am able to glorify my Lord by taking care of what He has given me.
I think that one of the great keys to success is having a team beachbody coach. We need someone who has gone before us and been successful. Someone who can lead us by answering questions, motivating us when we want to give it 60%-70% lol…Direct us to the nutrition and supplement that we know will work (we use them). I chose my coach very carefully. I wanted someone that achieved amazing results and knew what it took to get there. Through my coach’s tips and leadership by example, I am getting the “after photo” results I thought were never possible.
I now stay healthy with just a few rules:
1) PUSHING PLAY EVERDAY!!
2) NO CHEAT MEALS
3) NO EXCUSES
My body fat continues to melt away and I am BRINGING IT EVERYDAY. No gyms, no crazy gadgets, no gimmicks, just pure hard work and dedication. I hope you can make the same choice I have, and I am here to answer your questions and give advice to help you achieve your goals!
