Some transformations just leave you saying WOW!  Everybody who does P90X and Insanity will get results, but every now and then we see people who took it to a new level of dedication and commitment.  King Mavrick definitely shows us what is possible with that elite level of dedication.  He started P90X in June at 240 lbs, and by September finished by adding Insanity to the mix and getting to 195, and TOTALLY RIPPED!  Yes, for those of you doing the math, that’s 45 lbs of fat in 90 days!  Congrats King!

I had been in touch back and forth with King during his round of P90X, but I never knew the natural leader and motivator he was until I started the Misfit Challenge this week.  King has joined us and has become my right hand man, encouraging our fellow Misfits, sharing tips and advice, and being a source of inspiration for this journey ahead.  Thanks King for the difference you are making in the lives of others already as you help others dial it in like you did!  I’m looking forward to having you along for this ride!!

King’s Story in his own words:

THE FALL AND REBIRTH OF A KING!
Hello guys, Mavrick here, like to say first of THANKS TO COACH WAYNE, FOR SHOWING ME NUTRITION IS THE KEY!  A little background. This was my third (in a way take on p90x, ITS COMPLICATED).  I did p90x 3 years ago when I was still in high school at 18 years old. All of my documented videos of my first round and all the way up into my mid p90x+ round are all on my YouTube channel along with all of my NEW RESULTS. (P90XMAVRICK)
Anyway I was very happy with my p90x results from 3 years ago, I weighed 240 now, and I really weighed way less than what I started with this round (about 65 pounds from when I ended my first p90x round STARTED AT 200 WENT TO 175). didn’t follow a “strict” nutrition plan back then, but due to the low state of my body fat and weight, my results came not so much as a surprise that I became ripped. Well after that p90x and some of p90x+ I started college full time. Things got a bit hectic.
I know I Know, no excuses right? I’m 18 years old starting college, meeting new people, focused on my education, little time between school work and etc. to work out. (LOL)  THAT was my biggest mistake; theirs always time to work out!  I ended up starting to eat fast food, ALL THE TIME. With no regards to all of the hard work I had previously put into my first p90x cycle. This problem grew, and after 3 years of killing my body and saying I WANT THE OLD ME BACK, I DECIDED TO MAKE THE CHANGE!
Fast forward 3 years, I’m an upper junior in college, and I’m out for summer break, (approximately 3 months). Didn’t have a job, and nothing planned for the summer. THE LIGHT BULB WENT OFF! What better time to make a DRAMATIC CHANGE, THEN NOW! NO TEST TO WORRY ABOUT, NO PROJECTS TO DO, NO EARLY MORNING WAKEUPS EVERDAY. NO REAL SUMMER HANGUPS OR MEETUPS. I had the environment to MAXIMIZE my return, to my formal royalty :)
So I had a plan, but now I needed to know when “D DAY” was. Well we all know p90x starts on a Monday, so, after getting a last bit of binge eating and a night out with my best friend. I said “OKAY, D DAY IS MAY THE 6TH. As I stared in the mirror looking at myself, I felt a bit ashamed. How could I let myself slip so far? I’m just glad I caught it in 3 years, versus 5 or 6. I had gained over 60 pounds from the initial start of my p90x cycle!  NEVER AGAIN I SAID!
Next, the pictures, aww man, was I embarrassed (LOL). Then the intro video, lol. My 8 pack abs were gone, and I had to come back to the community with my tail between my legs, like “opps” yea I fell off. I had already ordered my initial batches of supplements, proteins, and etc. I just needed to do a few more “things” (LOL) .So after posting the initial video, I reinstalled my Calorie King program,  I decided to dust off those 3 years of cobwebs and dust off my weights, and go buy some new weight gloves that Sunday afternoon. Went to the supermarket and bought all the “good foods” (so I thought).  *BASICALLY, all the foods I had 3 years ago when I did p90x*
So came the first day, and man did it kick my BUTT. I hadn’t felt this type of intensity in YEARS!!!  I made it through, and I had an “ACE” up my sleeve. I didn’t doubt if the program worked, I had conquered it before. I “KNEW” pushing play would get me in great shape, no guess work just DO IT!  So after 60 days of busting my butt, I had lost roughly 20-25 pounds, and looked relatively good. STILL NOT GOOD ENOUGH!  I had hit a plateau; weight lost had come to a crawl. I became discouraged. I simply thought, “is this as good as I’m going to get?”
Up until roughly 40 days ago, I had simply, had a 2000 calorie diet, and stuck to all low fat / fat free items, and tried my best.  No real “structure if you catch my drift.”  I went to YouTube to check out a few other people’s results. After about 30 minutes, I had seen Coach Wayne’s video.  I said WOW! THIS GUY KILLED THIS P90X CYCLE!  His video was amazing; I immediately went to the site Teamripped.com and OOGLED over all the data, and guides he posted. I immediately felt it to my core; the nutrition was what I was missing!  Never did I ever follow the nutrition guide in p90x, but here I had someone who had seen the flaws in the included nutrition guide, and came up with a PROVEN PLAN, that worked!  I immediately ordered some of the things he suggested such as PB2 and such (LOL!)   (I took at 7 day break to prepare for the P90X / HYBRID PLAN.) I set my limits to 50% protein, 20% fat, and 30% carb 1900 calorie fat shredder plan.
I started losing weight again! (YAY!) , BUT then I started doubting my results, I would check the scale 3-4 TIMES A DAY, for changes in weight and body fat percentages, the fluctuations KILLED ME, I felt like I was going backwards after seeing me hover constantly between 8.8-9.5 WEEK AFTER WEEK!  MENTALLY, I was drained, confused, and in despair. I constantly looked in the mirror equally as much daily.  I hadn’t taken pictures since day 60… And almost 40 days had passed.(roughly 30 days of that was the first 30 of the hybrid plan (P90X /INSANITY) .  I still felt the same, I didn’t want to show any of my friends or subscribers any more updates until things were “right”, meaning I had the body I wanted.  But then a close friend told me to go home and take some pictures, and tell him if I feel the same about the last 40 days. I went home, and took those pictures, I LITERALLY DROPPED THE CAMERA, AND SAID “IS THAT ME?!?!!? OMG! IM RIPPED!” I IMMEDIATELY, went on Facebook and told everyone id be dropping my whole p90x journey and latest pictures within the hour! I made the video for YouTube and put it together as you guys can see above, AND WOW, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
I made a vow to myself, to stick to this fitness for rest of my life and NEVER ALLOW MYSELF TO GET TO 240 POUNDS EVER AGAIN!  I’m now on the 3000 calorie bulking plan, following it just a strict as the 1900 calorie plan, and I’m still on the hybrid (P90X/ INSANITY).  Sure it’s hard not to drink, or eat fast food. My friend was eating dominos pizza in front of me today, first time I had been directly challenged with my biggest enemy (DOMINIOS PIZZA) and I WON!  Keep pushing play people I know your eyes are tired now, I could right more, but I’ll save that for another time. Special shout out to Coach Wayne for helping me take it to the next level. It was meant for me to find your video that day I sat in my room depressed, you showed me through your results that NUTRITION TRULY IS KEY!  With that said KING MAVRICK HAS RETURNED AND BETTER THAN EVER! DON’T GIVE UP!
