Vivek has been a strong member of teamRIPPED for a LOOOONG time! It was so nice to catch up with him. I often see what he is doing from a distance on Facebook. He is super active with his whole team and is always encouraging and being a great example with his own dedication.

When did you first find teamRIPPED?: YouTube while looking for support, I found your transformation video.

What program did you use to get your results?: My first program was P90X.

What are you doing now with your fitness?: Insanity MAX: 30.

How have your goals changed since your first transformation?: Not sure how to describe this honestly. Before my first program, it was all about reaching a certain point to overcome the monotonous life I had. I was always low on energy and very dull overall. After the first program, it was about making changes long term and making it a lifestyle. Having done Martial Arts during college years, it was pretty much getting back to what I always wanted to do.

If you are still working out a lot, what are you doing? Tell me all about it: I’m doing Insanity MAX:30 now. When Beachbody doesn’t release programs, I usually find short programs on Bodybuilding.com or create my hybrids using Beachbody Programs. Right now, I’m in Phase 2 of Insanity MAX: 30 and I’ve learned a lot of things using Body Weight exercises. I am also personally training a client after getting certification in P90X and Insanity and a Black Belt in Martial Arts that I earned when I was 21 years old. I’m Video Blogging on Insanity MAX: 30 with my thoughts and opinions and what I think of the program. It’s an incredible program and I plan on doing a P90X3/Insanity MAX:30 hybrid after this. Creating more of a functional routine using more body weight training and train outdoors in a park during the summer.

Did you ever gain weight back? Tell me about it: I did. About 10 lbs. I sort of stopped tracking my food intake and went overboard with the healthy eating. Healthy Eating wasn’t the problem, it was the macros and extra unjustified calories. I also went through an emotional turmoil during August 2014 and experienced a lot of humiliation from my close ones. Certain episodes broke me down and I barely slept each night. Maybe 4 hours each night. I used to wake up in the middle of night sweating and had severe nightmares. But I’m glad we have our group, our team and few of my close friends that always stood by me unconditionally. I fell sick during November of 2014 and reached 185-186 lbs. I tightened up my nutrition and followed the meal plan designed for Insanity MAX:30 and dropped 10 lbs in 3 weeks (knock on wood). It was a ton of hard work and it’s really easy to let go. What I learned is that consistency is key.

What is your WHY then and now? Has that changed?: My WHY hasn’t changed. More WHYs have been added. I wanted to earlier see what I could do and wanted to really be healthy. Now after joining teamRIPPED and meeting like minded people, I’ve felt a huge amount of spiritual and personal satisfaction, and I want to thank you Coach Wayne and teamRIPPED and my team members that I coach, that have helped selflessly along the way.

Right now, I have my own team that I coach. There is a huge amount of diversity in the team and we discuss ideas, thoughts, and some of them have been friends with me for over 2 decades. It becomes a way of life and the friendship, the camaraderie, the connection you establish just cannot be described in words. Healthy is also about being socially connected and knowing that what we do is long term. I still remember the first time we all got together on Facebook for the teamRIPPED Asylum vol 1 challenge. Huge game changer! It changed the way Beachbody steered with the Challenge Group concept and how it has changed the way people connect with each other with Fitness groups.

I made some videos also, for P90X, P90X2, P90X3,  in line with Tony’s programs, the first is my transformation, the other two are my journeys.

In the third video, I’ve taken clips from the first two, to make it a part of a sequel. :)
