Mark D. used to weigh 310 lbs! He was too far gone to make a change, right? NO WAY!!! He brought it for 2 rounds of P90X, then a round of Insanity. He lost over 100 lbs., and you wouldn’t even recognize him as the same person. See for yourself, and then read his story below. It’s inspiring!
Mark’s Story in his own words:
“After college and a busy work schedule, I knew I had put on significant weight. I had always been a “big guy”, but I knew it was out of hand. In April 2009, I bought a scale. It read 310 lbs. It was worse than I had ever imagined.
I got a gym membership, and started watching what I was eating. After about 35 lbs, I had plateau’ed. Then my brother turned me onto P90X. After two rounds, lean and regular, I was done to about 235. Again, I plateau’ed and remained around 235 for months. I knew I needed to re-evaluate my workout plans, but I was stuck. I got complacent. I thought I had already accomplished so much.
That’s when I finally decided to try Insanity. I was terrified. I never thought I would have the ability to get through one of those workouts. Sure, some of the P90X workouts had become manageable and even “easy”, but Insanity looked TOUGH. I mean, it’s the hardest workout out there.
It was incredibly hard. I was justified in being afraid. But I’m so proud to say that I accomplished more than I ever thought possible. I finished Insanity and lost 25 lbs in 2 months.
During Insanity I gave it my all. Both nutrition and effort. I did every workout to the best of my ability. I ate right. I was eating about 2300 calories a day, of which 40-50% was protein. I took Shakeology every day. I supplemented with a pre-workout NO booster, and took Creatine & Glutamine post-workout. I never had a cheat BITE, never mind a cheat meal. I gave 100% and I feel as if I got 100% back.
I’m getting choked up just writing this post. Beachbody has completely changed my life. I can’t imagine still being 310 lbs. I never felt that big. I never felt like that guy. I was that guy… but I’m not anymore.
The best part is this isn’t my success story. This is my progress story. I’m not done yet, and I won’t be. My finish line is when I flat line. Fitness and nutrition are a commitment I’m making for the rest of my life. I’ve developed a P90X/Insanity/1-on-1 Hybrid program which I’ve started and lost another 5 lbs. Total weight loss is 105 lbs.
