Jessie joins our select group of teamRIPPED ladies who have endured all the “guy-talk” and made their way into the Hall of Fame because they know this is the place of Xtreme results!  LOL!  And Jessie has definitely earned her spot!  She rocked Insanity and P90X, and has the after poses to prove it!  Way to go Jessie!

Jessie’s Story in her own Words:

My second year of nursing school I had noticed during clinicals that I could no longer bend over in my scrubs without getting plumbers but, this was bad considering they had a drawstring waist.  I had gained 17 lbs in 2 months, was sleeping all the time and very unhappy.  After having some blood work done I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism.  I spent the summer doing various activities to lose weight, went to boot camp, swam, then started running crazy distances.  I did not lose much weight and ended up with planter fasciatus because I did not slowly increase my running distance over time.  I asked a few friends about Insanity because several of them had been talking about how hard it was.  My fist day I thought I was going to drop dead before we finished the warm up.  Gradually my body became stronger and I was able to get better.  There were days when my foot hurt too bad for me to finish so I would hope on the spin cycle and finish watching the video while pedaling. The first month I only lost a pound, the second month I started Shakeology and lost 4 pounds in a week.  I was so shocked I had to get off the scale then back on again to make sure it wasn’t stuck or worse brocken. Two days short of finishing Insanity I tore the cartilage in my knee from stepping down wrong off of our porch.  Though this was very frustrating it allowed me the opportunity to really learn how to eat clean.  Even though I thought I had been eating healthy I had not been doing all I needed to, to get the results I desired.  Several months later, the cartilage was still torn so I very carefully started P90X . I had to modify A LOT. No plyo, just jump and jacks, no twisting during punches, I had to punch straight forward. Despite my knee injury I was surprised at just how much I could do. There were some big barriers that hindered my workouts, two really bad rounds of the flue and my hubby fractured his pelvis and though I would come home from the hospital to workout, I was not able to finish the entire hour because I was too physically and emotionally drained.  So I just did what I could. I lost A total of 22 lbs from when I first started working out.  I went from a size 10 to a size 2.  I am now in better shape physically then when I was 16 and I was a dancer so that is saying a lot! If I did it, you are ever so capable of doing it as well. And ladies don’t ever be afraid of big weights; I can lift 35 pounds for lawn mowers and heavy pants and I am not bulky.
