RIPPED nation! I have been so blessed to have the opportunity to work with all of you and meet like-minded people who are committed to taking control of their health and fitness and making a change that inspires others to follow. Thank you all so much for being part of my life! It’s been a wild ride with the explosion of teamRIPPED, and it’s been awesome to see the ripple effect of lives that have changed. I always end my Weekend Updates with “keep bringing it and inspiring others to do the same”, and that’s exactly what you all have done! THANK YOU!!
Happy Thanksgiving teamAlso, please indulge me while I express thanks for some of the most important people in my life …
Thank You
I, first of all, must acknowledge the humble heart of gratitude I have to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. No, He hasn’t “earned” my thanks because of the many blessings He’s poured out on me, although I am very thankful for them. But I’d like to think that even if I had none of these blessings, that I would still love and thank Him every day for the sacrifice He made to secure my eternal position in heaven. In all that I do, I seek to keep my eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of my faith (Heb. 12:2).
I also want to thank my wife, Anita, for being the “woman behind the man”. I am a driven, Type A person, which is part of why I was able to focus so hard on my results during my first rounds of P90X. It’s also why I’ve been able to diligently grow teamRIPPED into the phenomenon it is today. But that same drive and focus make me hard to live with sometimes. I can be a pain! Anita is so gracious to support me in all my endeavors (even though she thought I’d lost my mind on several occasions with this whole Beachbody coaching and teamRIPPED thing!). Anita is awesome! She keeps me humble by reminding me that while I may seem like such a stud on the internet, I’m still just Dad at home! She even sings me the “I’m so much cooler online” country song when I tell her about all the cool things happening on teamRIPPED. That’s my girl!
I also want to express thanks to my kiddos, who are honest with me to keep me in check on making time with them and investing in their lives. Part of my “WHY” (the reason I got in shape in the first place) was to set an excellent example for them. And now that I’m a coach and have more requirements on my time, I appreciate that they remind me to stay grounded and plugged in with their lives every day. The time I have with them is something I cherish. I am so thankful for who they are all growing up to be.
I also want to thank all my friends that I’ve made through teamRIPPED. Starting with that crazy group of Asylum Legends who came to Tulsa to surprise me and then turned into real life friends. I have a Crew I could never replace! Y’all keep me in check and encourage me to be a better husband, dad, and Coach!
Finally, I’m privileged to have a group of men who are like mentors to me that keep me accountable to the things I say are important to me. I am very thankful for them.
We all have many, many things to be thankful for. Go ahead and take a minute to jot a comment of what YOU are thankful for this Thanksgiving! (Even you folks living outside the US can chime in. I know we have our quirky holidays that aren’t celebrated elsewhere, but come on and celebrate with us anyways!)
