I love fitness! Can you tell? LOL I hope this is obvious, but I love to learn more and more about fitness and nutrition. As soon as I started my transformation, I was done… I just wanted more! So that lead me to search out for what I could see as the best information to make my transformation the best! A lot as changed since I started and I am constantly growing and learning still.

The idea for this post came from Tom S: What health and fitness related resources have you found helpful in gaining more knowledge surrounding your new lifestyle?  How have you gained your knowledge over the past years since you started your first original round of P90X? What resources did you use that you felt benefited you the most? Where did you find those resources?

So what are my favorites? Here are some of my go-to fitness resources!

Steve Edwards – Steve is one of Beachbody’s biggest and brightest consultants. I really like Steve and value his insight. He is passionate about a lot areas of fitness. Currently he is fighting his own battle with cancer. Praying that he can beat it! Lots of cool topics and nutrition insight.

See Steve’s Blog (It appears to be hacked right now DOH! So search for it at your own risk…)

Layne Norton – I have posted a few videos from Layne so you might now him. Layne is a powerlifter and bodybuilder. He also has his PhD in nutrition and was focused on muscle protein synthesis. Layne might rub you the wrong way LOL but he KNOWS what be knows and backs up his views with science. He can rant and be pretty direct, but he won’t lead you astray. His YouTube channel is really good too!

Jim Stapponi – Another man of science and a PhD! LOL I like trying to get the best, scientifically grounded info. Jim is very straight forward too. You might be aware of him from his new line of supplements. He backs up everything he uses with research and really focused on real supplements at effective doses. He writes A LOT of Bodybuilding.com so that is the link I included. He site is ok but definitely steers you to buy this or that…

Jim’s BB.com Site

Mike Vacanti – I was just recently introduced to Mike and I am really liking his work! He hosts a YouTube show called “Equals and Alternatives” where he places two foods that are equal in overall calories and picks apart what is really in them. He is definitely a flexible dieting, macro counting guy but he doesn’t go off the deep end of some IIFYM people with Pop Tart this and ice cream that… He’s really good!

Some other fun ones to follow are: the MAN Mr. Tony Horton (GREAT YouTube Channel!)

I mean come on, you really can’t beat him! Tony posts tons of videos and really great, free workouts too. He is great to subscribe to!

Other people to follow if you are interested in powerlifting: Jonnie Candito (powerlifter and great form advice), Alan Thrall (more powerlifting), and Mark Bell (big time powerlifter).

So check some of these resources out! I definitely read a lot more, but these are all my go-to sources.

Post in the comments who YOUR favorite resources are!
