My Transformation Story!!!
See that guy on the left? In the burgundy shorts? That photo is what prompted me to start this journey. That was just over two years ago. I had always been a “hard gainer”. Very skinny, lean, the type of guy that could put down an entire medium pizza, a few beers, and follow it with a nice ice cream sundae, and never think twice about how that might effect my health or my waistline! Well apparently something changed, I think they call it “getting older”, but I never noticed….Until I saw that picture! Man, what a wake up call!!! In that picture I was about 180 pounds. Not “heavy” in the grand scheme of things, but for someone who had been 135-140 since high school, that was a pretty big shock. And man was it a soft, flabby, sloppy 180 pounds!! I bought P90X probably 2-3 years before this picture, had tried it many times, and pretty much never made it past the first week. It was time to dust off those DVD’s!
July 2011, the beginning of the first leg of my journey! I started, and finished, my first round of P90X! I went from 179 pounds to 160 pounds in 90 days! I was pretty darn happy with my body for the first time in a while. Now, this first round, I tended to skip the cardio days (esp. Plyometrics) and even when I did it I would stop half way through. I definitely skipped YogaX, well, pretty much every week, and during the recovery week, well I interpreted that as a “rest” week and pretty much did nothing. Oh, and I skipped Ab ripper X a lot! My diet…..well I changed my diet, but I didn’t change it enough to really get the most out of the program. In short, I admittedly didn’t give it my all, and I STILL saw some pretty good results!
As of August of 2014 and I was just over 1 year into my true transformation journey. I just finished 10 weeks of Body Beast and I am planning on starting X2 on September 1, and then I will be doing Asylum 2 to finish of 2014 strong! I’ve been with TeamRipped since July of 2013 and I could not have done even a tenth of what I have done without the support and accountability of Coach Wayne and the rest of the TeamRipped Nation. I am indebted to Coach Wayne and I can only dream of inspiring and leading as many people as he has. Peace.
