Hey coach I have been using this hrm for awhile. I ordered it through beachbody international. I use it for all my insanity cardio workouts but I always hit avr heart rate of 160-175, which seems impossible as I included stretch and cool down. And my max heart rate shows 230++ everytime (isn't max heart rate 220-age?). Is this hrm reliable? Oh btw this doesn't show calories burnt! Have a nice day! :)
Hey Geraldine, your HRM could be problematic, cuz there is no way you should be hitting anywhere near 230 on the HR. Either call BB and ask to exchange it, or get your HR tested elsewhere to see if you have a heart condition because 230 is NOT GOOD!!!

I have used the same HRM from the start = an ironman road trainer. They didn't have a HRM with the strap available on TBB when I started. This one above is good. But so is any HRM with a chest strap. They are all accurate and dependable with today's technology.
Do you find it does a good job with the calorie count and obviously heart rate? My schwin model just clocked me in at a HR of 225 which either means I am dead or superhuman. I guess there is just one Ironman Road Trainer model>?
LOL Baron, maybe you ARE superhuman :-). I have found mine to be very reliable and accurate.
Wayne-is there a specific Timex model that you use? I know they probably have several brands.

Hey Coach, I was wondering in your conversation with The Baron you advised him that "it shows calories burned" is that for his Schwinn hrm or are you talking about the bow flex hrm on your gear list. just wondering because i would definitely like to know calories burned. and i didn't see it on the spec list above. Hey Sherief, pretty much all HRM's will show calories burned, including the Bowflex.

It is accurate if you put in your information accurately to calibrate it. Yes, it shows calories burned.

Does anyone know what the "Fit" and Act" functions are for on some heart rate monitors. I have a Schwinn model. The act functions asks me to put in a number from 0-2 which I think changes the Fit function but I dont know what its doing. any thoughts anyone?
Hey Baron, since your HRM is different than mine, you'll probably need to look in the dreaded owner's manual for that one! LOL! I'm sure it explains all the functions.
