It’s good to be thankful!  We are now officially on the edge of entering “Thanksgiving week!”  For many of you, the next week will include time off work, getting together with friends and family, and of course, planning some big meals.  I have so much to be thankful for, and I know you do as well.  I love this time of year!

But today I want to remind you that there are 2 things that can happen between now and New Years — Option 1 – you can be like the average American and gain 10 lbs of fat.  Pig out, be lazy, and feel miserable.  I spent YEARS choosing option 1.  While the food tasted good going down, it was no way to “enjoy the holidays”.  I felt like crap.  Option 1 sucks!

Option 2 — BRING IT!  I have chosen Option 2 the last few Thanksgivings and Christmases.  And guess what?  It has been AWESOME!  I didn’t gain 10 lbs.  I stayed ripped.  And I didn’t have to go lock myself in a closet to avoid all the temptations either.  I have had a great time visiting with friends and family, enjoying the reason for the season, and have felt great doing it.  I simply made a PLAN!  Start your PLAN now!  When we get caught off-guard, that’s when we can get in trouble.  When we make a plan, we know what to do and how to come out of any situation with success.

Start going over the menu options you’ll be faced with at Thanksgiving.  Plan on what you will eat.  Are you on a fat shredder diet?  Get a big plate of sliced turkey and green beans.  No worries!  Everyone thinks that it’s impossible to eat healthy at big holiday meals.   That’s nonsense.  Just because you have to avoid some of the items doesn’t mean you “can’t eat healthy”.  No excuses!  Do what you need to do to go with Option 2!  Option 1 gets no love at teamRIPPED! If you are really worried, I am giving you a full MyFitnessPal plan on Tuesday, so stay tuned.

Also, be sure you have some emergency rations!  If you are traveling and find yourself at a meal that literally has ZERO healthy options, you don’t want to be forced to either “give in or starve”.  Have a stash of rations in your suitcase or your glove box of your car.  Heck, I ALWAYS keep a stash in my glovebox.  I’ve had to suck it up and say no at some meals before and then hit my emergency rations when I get to the car.  I was glad I had my safe foods nearby or I’d have been in a pickle.  Good items for an emergency ration stash are nuts, jerky, cereal, protein bars, seeds, and fruits that can last a few days like apples.

Just remember the old saying, “failing to plan is planning to fail”.  Put in the effort to get a plan in place and you will SUCCEED!  Ring in 2018 with no regrets or holiday flab!

And 2 favors that I ask:

1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them.  Click the share links below them and share them on FB, twitter, etc.  It really helps me get more exposure and grow teamRIPPED!

2) Also, as always, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site, www.teamRIPPED.com, or by logging in to www.teambeachbody.com to do your shopping (If you buy from the plain Beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!

Keep bringing it and inspiring others to do the same gang!!
