Shredding body fat is more everyone’s goal right now. Summer is right around the corner, so that makes us a little urgent to get rid of that excess BF.

If you’ve hung around teamRIPPED and listened to my advice for any length of time, you know what I am going to say. NUTRITION is the KEY to shredding body fat! You can’t outwork a poor diet. What we eat and how much we eat matters. So what should you keep in your house to make sure you have food to help your fat shredding goals? These are my Store Bought Fat Shredding Staples!

Store Bought Fat Shredding Staples

For each of these items, I will also tell you why this is a perfect staple food to have on hand for your fat shredding goals. All of these can be found at a normal grocery store or Walmart.

#1 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts

You knew it was coming LOL but this staple of fat loss is a powerhouse of protein. Why is boneless/skinless chicken so good? First off, it’s almost all protein. Little to no fat and no carbs. That makes it so easy to track! Being so high in protein, you can easily use chicken to hit your protein macros. A 6 oz piece of white meat chicken gives you 34g of protein!

#2 Egg Whites

You can either separate them from whole eggs or buy the carton, but egg whites rock for the same reason that boneless skinless chicken breasts – HIGH protein, low/no fat or carbs. Tracking made easy LOL Scramble them up with some PAM and you can have a protein packed section of your next meal. A cup of egg whites gives you 27g of protein!

Now I can hear it already, “But Coach Wayne! Egg yolks have all sorts of nutrients!” True but they also have a lot of fat. If you track that fat in your budgets, perfect! Otherwise, pass on the yolks and save that fat for elsewhere. Just because something is “good” doesn’t mean it doesn’t have macros!

#3 Whey Protein

Did you see this one coming too? What’s to say about whey? Easy, protein packed, macro saver. Test out some brands to find what you like the most. I still stick with Dymatize ISO 100 as my go to protein.

#4 Apples

These might just be a go-to for me, but I love apples and love them when I am cutting. They fill you up well, are nice and sweet, and pack some fiber in. A medium apple is under 100 calories (on average) and has about 4-5g of fiber! Easy to pack and take with you too.

#5 Carrot Sticks/Baby Carrots

Sometimes you just need something to eat and eat and eat, let me introduce you to baby carrots! You can eat a lot and not have it mess up your day. They also have a very satisfying crunch. 20 baby carrots are only 70 calories and still packs almost 4g of fiber!

#6 Almonds

To round out this list, good ol’ almonds. I really like almonds as a fat source. Much like baby carrots, these have a satisfying crunch. Weigh and measure these out because it is easy to get out of hand. I use almonds many times to round out my macros. Need some fat? Let’s see how many almonds I can have!
