    Coach,

I am working on our round 2 plans and was hoping you would provide some input on a program that would meet multiple needs (if possible). We are 2 weeks from completing P90x classic and would like a little change with more cardio. I was thinking a x2 hybrid with Insanity. Yet, my wife began P90x a week ago and would like to work out in the morning with me and she wants to try Turbo Fire. What would you suggest for a happy medium?

    Thanks,

    Matt

Hey Matt, I’m not sure how you can do a P90X2 / Insanity hybrid AND do P90X with your wife LOL! I’d say to try and convince her to do Insanity with you because TF is really just a ladies version of Insanity, and Insanity is the better program in my opinion. If she’ll concede to Insanity, then you should concede to doing the P90X lift days with her so that you 2 can do a P90X Insanity hybrid together. Then you can do X2 the next round. I don’t think she’d be up for doing X2 right off the bat. It’s a challenging program with lots of advanced moves.

    Coach,

I should have been a little more specific, we were looking for 1 program that would meet both of our needs and I you settled it with the Insanity hybrid. Me (and my boys) were really wanting to freshen the workout up from Classic to X2 to see something new. My wife is pretty athletic and tough, you think she needs to finish a whole round of P90x before X2 or are they much different programs?

  4. Coach Wayne says:

You already have X2, right Matt? If so, let her try the first few workouts and see how she does. I bet she can handle the “foundation” phase just fine. And then as you go to the “strength” phase see if she can hang :-). The nice thing about X2 is there are band-modified moves for every exercise so if she’s not into doing the advanced pullup moves and med ball pushups, etc., she can modify.

So why not! Go for it! Just don’t get her mad at me cuz I have to see her every 6 weeks in the office with your daughter! LOL!

  5. Matt Ward says:

No, we dont have X2, Im trying to plan ahead so we can have the program in hand when round 1 is done. I had spoken to another gentleman about X2 and he said it was different than classic. My goal for round 2 is to continue to cut down (hence leaning towards hybrid) and then bulk round 3 but I want to keep it fresh and Im a little bit ‘tired’ of classic at the moment :-).

LOL, yeah she said she talked to you this morning about me “lifting too much”, thanks for helping me out :-).

  6. Coach Wayne says:

I told her you were doing great. She showed me your pics :-). Keep it up!

So I bought the P90X program while I was an exchange student last year, and I would love to buy the P90X2, but I’m pretty sure there is no way I could buy it here in Norway without shipping it over here and that’s gonna cost me the price of the product, then 25% of the value of the product in taxes and another 25% of the price for shipping it to me. Is there an online solution? So I could pay and download the videos? it would save me a lot of money if this was an option and I always use my laptop for P90X so it would be very convenient.

  8. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Ruben, buying P90X2 in a digital format is not available at this time. Sorry! You can contact the “international department” at Beachbody by calling their 1-800 number and seeing how much the actual shipping would turn out to be. If you just get the base kit, it’s small and light weight (DVD’s, guidebooks).

    Hey Coach,

I can’t afford the X2 rght now but I CAN get some med balls and a stability ball and really want to shake up my P-90X workouts. Do you think it would be ok to modify my pushups, abs, and stuff with the new equipment just to get a taste of something different or should I wait until I can get the full program to try anything new that I have seen in the demo vids?

  10. Coach Wayne says:

Go ahead and try some variety Biblemonkey, that’s fine. But study some technique videos online or on youtube to be sure you don’t mess around and hurt yourself trying new moves without instruction.
