P90X

P90X is a revolutionary system of 12 sweat-inducing, muscle-pumping workouts, designed to transform your body from regular to ripped in just 90 days. You’ll also receive a comprehensive 3-phase nutrition plan, specially designed supplement options, a detailed fitness guide, a calendar to track your progress, online peer support, and much more. Your personal trainer, Tony Horton, will keep you engaged every step of the way, and you won’t believe your results!

**Bonus** Anyone who buys P90X through their coach (me!) will get 2 free DVD’s from Tony Horton’s 1-on-1 series.  It includes Fountain of Youth Yoga (a nice — shorter — yoga option for those who don’t like the 90 minute Yoga X), and Mammoth UML (Upper Middle Lower), a great full-body workout.  These are a $40 value!  What a deal!!  Just make sure you order through your coach, because otherwise you won’t get these extra free DVD’s!

My Review of P90X

When you receive P90X, you will receive 12 DVD’s, along with a Fitness Guide and Nutrition Guide. The Fitness Guide has about 100 pages that go into great detail about each of the workouts and how to do the exercises, allowing you to go to the gym and do the workouts if you would like. The Nutrition Guide is a comprehensive 3 phase guide that explains how, what, and when to eat. I really like the Meal Plan because it outlines exactly what foods you should eat every day. You will also need to have the P90X Pull-Up bar, which is excellent because you don’t have to attach it to anything. All you have to have is a door frame wide enough to hold it.  Once you begin the program, you’re quickly going to realize why the program is so effective! For one thing, you are going to be extremely sore during the first few weeks! I know I was! When Beachbody talks about muscle confusion, they aren’t kidding!

I started the program at 255 lbs and 22% body fat.  After the first month, I had lost 20 lbs and about 9% body fat, and was already in the best shape of my life, and knew that it was only going to get better. When day 90 rolled around, I had lost a total of 43 lbs and 15% body fat, and was absolutely ripped! I finished with just 7% body fat!  That’s CRAZY!!  I still can’t believe how amazing the results are with P90X!

People literally could not believe my transformation, and immediately wanted to know what I did. I told them that “if you are able to commit yourself to this program that you too could get into the best shape of your life!” If you’re one of those people who are tired of being out of shape and ready for a change, click below to try P90X today! It worked for me and it can for you too!

I was wondering if you have heard whether the iPod app has all the same stuff as the DVDs do? The iPod version is much cheaper, is that due to it missing the 3 guides?

  2. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Kale, the ipod version is just the workouts, and it’s not the full video. It’s just Tony demonstrating the moves. It’s good for “on the go” but not as good as the full program.

  3. Megan says:

hi coach wayne,i was hitting gym regularly before six months and now i left it due to hiatal hernia…now i became fat and i need to get ripped which one i should go for p90x or insanity?pls help me out

  7. Coach Wayne says:

Get P90X Mohamed. Read this for more on why = http://teamripped.com/p90x-or-insanity

  8. Todd says:

Coach Wayne, I actually have a couple questions for you. Im half way through my first round of P90X and Im trying to figure out what I should do next. Should I do another round of P90X or should I do Insanity? My second question is about body fat %. I just bought the Slim Guide body fat calipers. I read the manual and it said to get to 10% body fat, the weight I would have to get down to is 138 pounds. I currently weight 148 down fron 161 6 weeks ago. I already look almost to skinny. Do I really need to get down to that weight to get the 10% body fat? Im at 17% body fat which is down from 23% when I started 6 weeks. At 148 pounds the body fat % is right on the money, so thats why Im curious if I really have to go that low on weight to get the 10% body fat. Thanks, Todd

  9. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Todd, that’s totally up to you. You can do another round of the X or a hybrid with Insanity. It depends on what you want to do. I wouldn’t do Insanity by itself though (I don’t like all cardio programs with no resistance training). Look in the workout zone tab to learn about my hybrids.

Yes, if you are at 17% body fat now, you’ll have to lose weight to lose body fat, unless you try to replace it all with muscle which will take a LONG time. Read this article for more details = http://teamripped.com/big-ripped-or-small-ripped

  10. Todd says:

    Thanks Coach, That helped ALOT….

  11. Michael says:

    Hey Coach,

I’m on the 2nd week of phase 3, first round. I’ve been finding myself extremely sore, especially after the first week’s legs and back and now after C/S/T on the 2nd week. Is this the muscle confusion in effect? My legs are still sore from last week and I have a good feeling my upper body will be tomorrow after tonight’s workout. I never really had this problem until after the first week of the first 2 months.

    Not complaining… I love it!

    Michael

  12. Coach Wayne says:

Yep, that’s a good thing Michael. You are challenging your body and it will help bring more results. Keep pushing!

  13. Derek says:

Hey coach, I was wondering since I am not as flexible as I would like to be during this program, is it beneficial to do stretch x 3 times a week?

  14. Coach Wayne says:

Sure Derek! You can stretch as much as you have time for! It’s great for your body.

  15. Frank C. says:

Hey Coach, wanted to get your honest opinion on the yoga portion of the training. If it’s something you did or substituded with some other exercise. Please advise.

  16. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Frank, here’s my honest opinion about yoga = http://teamripped.com/yoga

  17. Spencer Miller says:

I currently have a pulled glute. Could I just alternate chest & back and shoulders & arms for the whole week? So on Monday, Wednesday and Friday I would do Chest and back. And then on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday I would do shoulders & arms. This would only last a week or 2 at most just so I can still get a good workout in every day.

  18. Coach Wayne says:

No Spencer, you can’t do those workouts back to back. That’s overtraining. You will be working biceps and triceps every day. Read my article “overtraining” for details.

  19. Spencer Miller says:

Ok thank you. Any suggestions on what I could substitute in to still get a good workout each day?

  20. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Spencer, check the suggestions I made in the article I referred you to (which you obviously didn’t bother to read!!). Busted!

  21. Spencer Miller says:

Ok I did read it. I just wasn’t exactly positive if it was ok to do Back & Biceps and Chest Shoulders and Triceps. Now I am more clear on it. Thank You!!

  22. Spencer Miller says:

I am going to have to take about 2-3 weeks off because of an injury. As long as I keep my diet as it was before do you think I will be ok and not gain any fat?

  23. Coach Wayne says:

It’s hard to know how your body will do if you stop exercising for 3 weeks. But keep your nutrition super clean and you will give yourself the best chance to maintain your fitness level.

  24. Spencer Miller says:

I may still be able to do a few of the weight workouts I will have to see how I feel. Sorry to keep bothering you. You have so much helpful information. Thanks!
