    Hey Coach,
Is there a way to lose like a little more body fat without losing a whole lot of weight. My parents are so paranoid that i may be too fragile after i become skinny LOL!!

And also, at the end of the week, i am going to have a healthy cheat meal (ironic eh?). Lots of raw salmon and tuna with my favourite sushi as a reward for doing a whole round of the x….!!

  2. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Leo! Sushi can be very healthy, so no problem! Just look online at the nutritional info of the place you are going to know what choices make the most sense, and beware the dipping sauces!

    Keep it up man!!!

  3. Leo says:

    Hey Coach,
Just came back from sushi train and i must say, i think i over indulge. But as always, not going to have the snowball affect. Going to lower my week’s calories and probably do another workout today. (already did Max Interval Circuit…so going to add some Kenpo X)…

Oops..i think i even had some chicken katsu rolls…ahh well..

  4. Mo says:

    Hey Coach,
I’ve been doing Insanity and p90x together for a while now, and I’m seeing good results. I eat healthy and frequently. I’ve always been one that can gain fat in a second, but for muscle takes time for me. I’m starting to wonder if I’m pushing my body too hard during cardio days, insanity:asylum, and if it’s actually preventing me from gaining the desired muscle I’m striving for. I’ve already dropped a decent amount of fat from working out 5 days a week. I’m just wondering if it would make sense to just stick with p90x now, and the cardio workouts that come with it.

    Thanks, Mo

  5. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Mo, intense cardio can definitely make it harder to build muscle. If building muscle is your #1 objective, then yes, back off the cardio and do straight P90X. If you are still looking to drop body fat, then read my article “body fat vs. bulk” because you need to do them in stages.

Question about becomming a coach, and your commitions. I’m asking this question becuase I plan on order a few programs, and shakeologys, but i want to be able to compesate you in your time and effort, and also the free sample. but saving that 25% on everything (aslylum, p90x2 and equipment, and shakeology) will be hudge. Your are currently my coach, and if i become a coach under you is there like a perimid type compesation? and/or in what why does the company compesate you? I definally wouln’t mind doing some of it before, if there wasn’t anything at all for you after becomming a coach first, like a order of shakeology, since you sent me a free sample. Also just as an update i’ve now lost 50lbs since i joined this site just a few months ago :D I still got my “one pack” and my why is to e able to see my 6 pack again :D

  7. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Nathan, I get a commission when customers order things, but I don’t get a commission if they become coaches. However, I still get volume points which help me out. So do what makes the most sense for you (and if you are looking to get all that stuff, being a coach and saving 25% makes a lot more sense). Plus, you can order Shakeology as “Home Direct” as a coach and save both the 25% and get free shipping which saves you about $10 more.

  8. Leo says:

    Hey Coach,
I am going to start P90x again…round 2. This time i have something to work for….a great Christmas dinner…i have 5 months to lose 4-5% body fat. Any tips coach?

    Stats:
    69.5kg
    175cm
    Bodyfat:11-12%

  9. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Leo, the best tip I have is to dial in that nutrition, because getting into the single digits of body fat takes a lot of discipline and no cheating on the diet. Go for it!

  10. Leo says:

    Yo Coach,
During the first round of p90x, did you do kenpo x and yoga x. And also, can i substitute the workouts for insanity for extra fat burn?

I will definitely keep you updated on my results. Wish me luck!!

  11. Coach Wayne says:

Good luck Leo! During my first round, I subbed Core Synergistics for Yoga and I subbed Cardio X for Kenpo X. I didn’t start using Insanity for cardio until round 2. If you have Insanity and feel like you are ready for more intense cardio, go for it!

  12. Leo says:

    Yo Coach,
I’m a little confused about the macro-nutrients. Is it ok to eat less fat but more protein?

    E.g
    1574cal- 217-120-32(fat shredder plan)

    Thank You!!

  13. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Leo, yes, it’s better to err on the side of going over on protein and under on fats.

  14. Tog says:

    Hi Coach,

If i burn more calories then i eat will i for sure lose bodyfat then ?

  15. Coach W says:

    Hey Tog good question,
Yes thats the idea behind losing fat. Its called the Law of Thermogenisis. If we put out more energy (exercise) then the energy we take in (food) then we lose body fat.
    Coach Ant

  16. Tog says:

    ok, good.

    thank you :-)

  17. Leo says:

Yo Coach, hope you have a great camping trip…Anyways…is peri peri sauce and hot sauce ok to marinade lean protein?

  18. Coach W says:

    Leo,
Personally I use any kind of extra flavoring sparingly, but if you have to add something to spice up your meal then try to stick to the low sugar and sodium sauces. A great addition is fresh salsa which is low calorie and low sodium.
    Coach Ant

  19. Leo says:

    Hey COach,
Recently i heard about this Thermogenic fat burner name OxyElite Pro made by the guys who made Jack3d. Do you think this would help me get ripped a lot quicker with P90x?

  20. Coach W says:

    Leo,
The maker is USPLabs, they is a misconception that thermos are the miracle pills. WHat it actually comes down to is nothing but hard determination and work will achieve results. These fat burners may add a little extra to your losing of unwanted fat but there are drawbacks to them. Some people do not respond to them so they do not work while others respond so good that they have side effects. Loss of sleep, irratation, mood swings, and possibly worse effects as of neurological damage. Not trying to scare you just what I have read about these and experienced. Another drawback is that after using them for some time like anything else that stimulates they tend to lose power and start to require more to work and could create dependability. Also I have noticed that after I have cycled off of them I had a great increase of hunger and had to fight urges to eat.
This is one of those times where you have to weigh the costs and decide if the drawbacks are worth the results.
So my answer is Yes they may help you achieve quicker results and increase energy.
I tell everyone the same thing about these, Be Careful with them.
I think Coach Waynes also has a blog about fat burners, you could do a search and see what he says about these on the teamripped.com website.
    Coach Ant

  21. Leo says:

    Thanks coach!!

  22. marcus says:

Hi coach I have been on the 40/40/20 plan for the a round 3. And I am 5’10 190 10 percent bodyfat and a mesomorph. I want do get down to 7 percent bodyfat in round 4. So should I switch back to the fat shredder plan to get that goal what would you recommend.

    Thank You

  23. marcus says:

what supplements do you recommend to use that help release your fat into your bloodstream to be burned as engery thoughout the day rather than carbs .like for example take Oxy Elite Pro, cla, sesamin and fish oil for a stack fat burner

  24. Coach W says:

    Marcus,
    Look into L-Carnitine.
    Coach Ant

  25. Coach W says:

    Marcus,
If that was my goal that’s exactly what I would do—go back to fat shredder AND add some cardio

  26. Leo says:

    Hey Coach,
Would it be ok to have an extra week of phase one?

  27. Coach Wayne says:

Sure Leo if you feel you need it!

  28. Leo says:

    Hey Coach,
One of my close relatives is 13 years old. Do you think P90x is ok for him?

And also…is 1490calories too low for a teenager doing P90x? (i don’t feel sluggish when i eat that much)

  29. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Leo, 1500 is as low as a person should go on calories, but as a teenager with a higher metabolism, I’d say he should go below 1800. Since many of the exercises are body weight exercises, P90X is a great program for teens to use (not as potentially dangerous as powerlifting).

  30. Leo says:

    Hey Coach,
I got a question. Since i have a basketball every week on Tuesday, can i do Plyo x on Thursday?

And also, i recently found out about these Atkins bars…are they any good?

  31. Coach Wayne says:

Sure you can exchange plyo for Thursday. That’s fine. I don’t use the Atkins bars as they aren’t as good as Pure Protein or the P90X bars in my opinion, but if you like them and are tracking the protein / carbs / fats in your daily totals, by all means go for it!!!!

  32. biblemonkey says:

I am using Insanity to get ready for the Warrior Dash in New York in August. I have very specific goals I am aiming for. Thing is, I will be doing the race when I have 2 weeks left to go on Insanity and then my goals will be changing. I want to do the “Hybrid” with P-90X next and was wondering if it was ok to stop insanity bfore finishing the entire program so I can start this new Hybrid program and get started on my new goals?

  33. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Biblemonkey, sure you can switch it up (I prefer a hybrid for the lifting anyways). It’s more about doing what will get us to our goals than checking off a box that we completed all 63 days anyways. Have fun in the warrior dash! I’m doing one here in Tulsa in Sept.

  34. Ryan says:

Coach W just wanted to let you know I got my shirt yesterday and worked out in it to Legs and Back. Nice fit and I really like it. I will be ordering another one shortly. Thanks again for your hard work on creating a good product!
    Ryan

  35. Coach Wayne says:

Glad you like it Ryan! It made you stronger too, right? :-)

  36. Ross says:

    Hey Coach,

Just finished up week 4 of P90x/ insanity and I was wondering how are my results? My goal being to build muscle mass.

day 1 151.3 lbs with 14% body fat
day 30 154.8 lbs with 9.7% body fat

should I stick to my diet (30-35% protien 50-50% carbs 15-20% fats) totaling around 2200 cals per day?

  37. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Ross, those are awesome stats! Sounds like you should definitely keep doing exactly what you are doing!

  38. Leo says:

    Hey Coach,
Just wondering if i could do a vertical jump training program (4 days a week) + P90x? I’m just afraid there might be over training.

Also, DAY ONE FOR ME ON MONDAY!!! And also, i recently heard about this supplement Proactol Plus Fat Binder. Do you think this would help with P90x?

    Thanks Coach!!

  39. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Leo, sure you can. You can do as much cardio as you feel up to! There isn’t an over-training risk with some extra cardio.

  40. Leo says:

    Hey Coach,
Just adding on to the last post, when i said extra workout, i meant plyometrics style workouts. So will this still be ok?

    And finally…Day One today!!!

  41. Coach Wayne says:

Yes Leo, that’s fine! Bring it!!!!!

  42. Patrick says:

    Coach Wayne
If you go over on your healthy fats how does your body store the rest of it?
    Thanks
    Patrick

  43. biblemonkey says:

    Hay Coach!

Thanks for all the advice! I was wondering if it would be ok to switch my “Insanity Power” day with hill running or would another switch be better? I only have three weeks left until the race and I need to work hill running in as the first 1.5 miles is straight up a ski slope. Would power be a good day to replace or another? I don’t want to cost myself the foot speed and agility that I have gained in the first three weeks of “Insanity” and I need to build the power and endurance it takes to run up that mountain. Mountain running is a totally different animal.

  44. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Patrick, if you take in more than you need (whether it be fats, carbs, or even protein), your body can store the excess energy as fat. The body is least likely to store excess protein as fat. It is MOST likely to store excess fat as fat, so try not to go over on fats because those are the easiest for your body to store as fat. If you are going to go over on anything, it’s best to go over on protein.

  45. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Biblemonkey, that sounds like a great idea to work on your hill running before the race. Go for it!

  46. biblemonkey says:

Sorry for the deluge of questions but I just thought of this.

If I get a weight vest for my pushups and pullups is it ok to lower the reps on my power lifting and push/pull-ups to the mass building 4-6 range so I can use P-90X for Hypertrophy or would that be too much training considering the weights used and that I’m doing the “Hybrid”? Also, I am going to mega muscle confuse by doing one month of hypertrophy and another month of cutting (12-15s) and then switching by the week in the final month. Would month one or two be better for Hypertrophy?

  47. biblemonkey says:

P.S. You better do us proud at the Warrior Dash. I think you’re in the same age group as I am or maybe the next one up.

  48. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Biblemonkey, absolutely. That’s fine. The more confusion the better. I suspect your month one (the lower rep higher weight month) will be better for hypertrophy.

  49. Leo says:

    Hey Coach,
Just wanted to ask whether i should increase my calories from 1500 to 1800~ if i only have like 3 kgs to lose but still have like 3%bodyfat to lose. I am only 15 LOL!!

  50. Coach Wayne says:

Hey Leo, if you are feeling fine and have energy for the workouts at 1500 cals, that’s fine. If you feel like you are running out of gas and unable to bring it during the workouts, then bump up to 1800.
