As y’all know, I was selected for and took part in the 22 Minute Hard Corps test group the last 9 weeks. It was a great experience and I am so glad I get to give you an in-depth review and my take on it. So let’s get into it and what better than a video review too!

Tony Horton’s 22 Minute Hard Corps – Workouts

Right off the bat, let’s go over the basics. These are 22-minute workouts based around military style PT. 3 days a week have an extra 9-minute workout with a bonus CORE workout, but the other 3 are just 22 minute days. It is 6 days on, 1 day off – with the rest on Sunday.

In all, 22HMC has 3 cardio workouts a week and 3 resistance workouts a week. There is some repetition built into the program but having fast, all out 22 minute workouts keeps it from getting boring. And 22 Minute Hard Corps reminded me… you just can’t beat Tony as your trainer!

You only need light dumbbells, a pull-up bar (or bands), and that is it. Some of the kits come with a sandbag for resistance too. You can do the program without it, but I did like how it felt and made me feel – made me feel tough! #GETSOME ;-) There really isn’t much gear at all for this one.

22MHC is for Everyone

What I loved about this program is that it is truly for everyone. YOU CAN DO THESE MOVES. There is a great modifier, but don’t sell yourself short. You can get down and do this work. As with all programs, if you are a beast then you will just have to push yourself to go harder. I hate when people try to knock a program as “too easy.” It’s only too easy if you don’t go hard enough! I loved all the push ups and pull ups!

For those that want more than 22 minutes (like I typically do LOL), I think 22MHC hits a perfect place at 22 minutes. You can get your HR up, work your body, and yet still have enough in the tank for some other training. I can easily see this program paired with short, Body Beast BULK style workouts. Stacking some lifting with 22MHC will give you the best of all worlds. Cardio, body weight training, and real weight training for mass and strength. At  $39.90 for the Base 22MHC Kit, you have a steal and amazing program to add to your library of fitness.

Nutrition with 22 Minute Hard Corps

The 22MHC nutrition plan is based on the container system. This is not my ideal form of tracking but you can’t completely rule it out. This gets your pretty dialed in and seems to be really easy for people that are opposed to tracking. I would call it pseudo trackingYou still get in roughly the same amount of calories in a day, but there is bigger variance with your macros.

Now where the container can be really good is if you the little variance this system gives is LESS than what you do when you track and fall off the wagon. If the container system keeps you consistent and you don’t deviate from it, then it is a great system for you!

Coach Wayne’s 22MHC Results – Before and After

Well here you have em! As you can see, I hadn’t fallen off the wagon but had enjoyed working purely on strength and caring less about low BF. 22MHC did help me shed some BF and got me rolling towards summer. I lost 0 pounds! But clearly shredded BF. I could have gone lower on calories but I really didn’t want to lose any mass or strength. I’m very happy with my final results!
